Vladimir Obradović (politician)
Vladimir Obradović ( sr-cyrl, Владимир Обрадовић; born 5 May 1977) is a Serbian politician and university professor who has served as a member of the National Assembly of Serbia since 1 August 2022. In October 2023, the Serbia Against Violence opposition coalition named Obradović as their candidate for Mayor of Belgrade at the 2023 City Assembly election. A former member of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), Obradović also served as an advisor to minister without portfolio Nenad Popović. Early life and education Obradović was born on 5 May 1977 in Belgrade, SR Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia. He completed primary and secondary school in his hometown. In 1998, he enrolled at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FON), majoring in management, which he graduated in 2004. Rakovica, Belgrade
Rakovica ( sr-cyr, Раковица, ) is a municipality of the city of Belgrade. According to the 2011 census results, the municipality has 108,641 inhabitants. The municipality of Rakovica is located south of downtown Belgrade. It is bordered by the municipalities of Savski Venac on the north, Voždovac on the west and Čukarica on the east and south. Its neighborhood of Resnik marks the southernmost point of the Belgrade City Proper (''uža teritorija grada''). Aleksandar Šapić ( sr-cyrl, Александар Шапић; born 1 June 1978) is a Serbian politician, and former professional water polo player serving as mayor of Belgrade since 20 June 2022. A member and current vice-president of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), Šapić had previously served as president of the New Belgrade municipality from 2012 to 2022. Šapić was previously a member of the Democratic Party (DS) until 2014, and he later led the Serbian Patriotic Alliance until the merger into SNS which occurred in May 2021. Local elections were held in Belgrade on 3 April 2022 to elect members of the City Assembly. United for the Victory of Serbia ( sr-cyrl, Уједињени за победу Србије, Ujedinjeni za pobedu Srbije, UZPS) was an opposition political coalition in Serbia that participated in the 2022 Serbian general election. 2022 Serbian General Election
General elections were held in Serbia on 3 April 2022 to elect both the president and members of the National Assembly. Initially, parliamentary elections were scheduled to be held in 2024; however, in October 2020 president Aleksandar Vučić stated that snap parliamentary elections would be held in or before April 2022. In addition to the general elections, local elections were held simultaneously in 12 municipalities and 2 cities, including Belgrade.
