Vladimir Albertovich Lebedev (russian: link=no, Владимир Альбертович Лебедев; 23 April 1962 – 30 November 2023) was a Russian politician who served as a senator from Nizhny Novgorod Oblast from 2014 to 2023. Life and career Vladimir Lebedev was born on 23 April 1962 in Moscow. In 1988, he graduated from the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University. After graduation, he worked at the Gorky Regional Committee of the Komsomol. From 1997 to 2004, he worked in various energy enterprises in management positions. From 2004 to 2005, Lebedev was First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Kirov Oblast. The Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) are two Russian civilian-military administrative regimes in the Donbas region of Ukraine. Russia claims to have annexed them, although it only occupies part of their claimed territories , and treats them as its federal subjects. Before October 2022, they claimed independence from Ukraine, although the international community continues to consider them part of Ukraine's sovereign territory. The DPR and LPR were proclaimed by Russian-supported separatists in 2014 during the War in Donbas. The militants running the republics held secession referendums, on 11 May 2014. Russian Annexation Of Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk And Zaporizhzhia Oblasts
On 30 September 2022, Russia, amid an ongoing invasion of Ukraine, unilaterally declared its annexation of areas in and around four Ukrainian oblasts – Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson. The boundaries of the areas to be annexed and their borders were not defined; Russian officials stated that they would be defined later. None of the oblasts were fully under Russian control at the time of the declaration.
