Vladimir Jovanović (basketball)
Vladimir "Vlada" Jovanović ( sr-cyr, Владимир "Влада" Јовановић; born 15 March 1984) is a Serbian professional basketball coach. He currently serves as the head coach for Igokea of the ABA League. Coaching career FMP (2012–2020) Jovanović was an assistant coach for the FMP as a part of coaching staff of coaches Milan Gurović and Slobodan Klipa from 2012 to 2016. During the 2016–17 season, he worked with the Crvena zvezda under-16 team and won the national championship. On 27 July 2017, Jovanović returns to FMP as the head coach. He made his Adriatic League debut as the head coach on 29 September in a 74–67 road loss to Cedevita. Jovanović got his first taste of the NBA through Summer League coaching stint in the 2018 season with the Los Angeles Clippers. In July 2020, he signed a two-year extension with FMP. ABA League
The ABA League, renamed to the ABA League First Division in 2017, is the 1st-tier regional men's professional basketball league that originally featured clubs from the former Yugoslavia (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia). Due to sponsorship reasons, the league was also known as the Goodyear League from 2001 to 2006, the NLB League from 2006 to 2011, and as the AdmiralBet ABA League from 2021. The league coexists alongside scaled-down national leagues in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia. All but one of Adriatic League clubs join their country's own competitions in late spring after the Adriatic League regular season and post-season have been completed. Cedevita d.o.o. is a Croatian company which produces a wide range of teas, instant drinks, and dietetic products. A notable owner of the company was the Croatian pharmaceutical company Pliva d.d. Since 2001 Cedevita has been part of the Atlantic Grupa. Background and history Cedevita began production in 1929 in Borongaj, Zagreb (where the main factory still operates) as a branch of the Swiss company Wander AG to produce dietetic products. In 1947, a new facility was built in Trogir for processing of plants and manufacturing of teas. The company sponsors KK Cedevita, a basketball club in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Igor Kokoškov
Igor Stefan Kokoškov ( sr-Cyrl, Игор Стефан Кокошков; born December 17, 1971) is a Serbian professional basketball coach who is an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He had spent 19 years in the NBA as an assistant coach, with a brief stint as head coach for the Phoenix Suns for a full season. He spent a season in Turkey with Fenerbahçe, before returning to the NBA to become an assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks in 2021. Kokoškov was the first European to be a full-time assistant coach in NCAA Division I college basketball, and the first non-American to hold such a position in the NBA. In 2004, he became the first non-American assistant coach to win an NBA championship, and the first to serve on an NBA All-Star Game coaching staff. 2016 FIBA U18 European Championship
The 2016 FIBA U18 European Championship was the 33rd edition of the FIBA U18 European Championship. The competition was originally scheduled to take place in Samsun, Turkey, from 30 July to 7 August 2016, but was postponed indefinitely due to the political unrest in the country at the time. The 1989–90 Yugoslav First Basketball League season was the 46th season of the Yugoslav First Basketball League, the highest professional basketball league in SFR Yugoslavia. Dragan Šakota (Serbian Cyrillic: Драган Шакота, Greek: Ντράγκαν Σάκοτα; born June 16, 1952) is a Serbian professional basketball coach, currently with LBa basketball club, Pallacanestro Reggiana. Playing career Šakota spent the entire playing career with the Belgrade-based team IMT. He played there from 1972 to 1983 and won the Yugoslav Federal B League in the 1982/83 season. Coaching career IMT (1983–1988) After spending his entire career in IMT, Šakota became head coach of the same team right after retiring as a player. 2020–21 ABA League First Division
The 2020–21 ABA League First Division was the 20th season of the ABA League with 14 teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia participating in it. The season has started on 2 October 2020. The season is the first to be played after the previous season was abandoned due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The ABA League Assembly ruled that the 12 teams from the previous season stays in the league and the first two clubs from Second Division were awarded two wild cards.
