Ernst Hellmut Vits
Ernst Hellmut Vits (19 September 1903 – 23 January 1970) was a German lawyer who headed the rayon manufacturer Vereinigte Glanzstoff-Fabriken (VGF) from 1940 to 1969. Life Early life (1903–33) Ernst Hellmut Vits was born on 19 September 1903 in Barmen, Wuppertal. His father, Ernst August Vitz, was an evangelical minister who later became General Superintendent of Neumark and Lower Lusatia. His mother was Julie, née Schaefer. He had three sisters and two brothers. In 1912 his family moved from Düsseldorf to Berlin. After graduating from the ''Königliches Wilhelms-Gymnasium'' (secondary school) in Berlin, he trained as a commercial assistant in a Berlin ironware factory. At the same time he studied law and political science at the Humboldt University of Berlin, then in 1924 at the University of Münster. Henry Vits
Henry Vits (January 21, 1842 – December 7, 1921) was an American businessman and politician. Born in Rheydt, Prussia, Vits emigrated with his parents to the United States in 1855 and settled in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Vits owned a grist mill and was involved with the tannery business. In 1898, Vits started the Manitowoc Aluminum Novelty Company in Manitowoc, which eventually merged into the combined Mirro Aluminum Company. Vits served as postmaster in Manitowoc during the administration of President Grover Cleveland. He also served on the school board, the Manitowoc Common Council, and the Manitowoc County Board of Supervisors. Mia De Vits
Marie Louise "Mia" De Vits (born 31 March 1950) is a Belgian politician. De Vits started her career with the socialist trade union ABVV in 1973, rising through the ranks to become Secretary-General (1989–2002) and its chairman (2002–2004). In 2004 De Vits went into elective politics and was elected a Member of the European Parliament (2004–2009) with the Socialistische Partij-Anders, part of the Socialist Group. She sat on the European Parliament's Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection. She was a substitute for the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs. In 2009 she was elected to the Flemish Parliament and served from 2009 to 2014. She retired from politics after the 2014 regional elections. Vīts Rimkus (born 21 June 1973) is a Latvian former professional footballer who played as a striker. Rimkus is of Lithuanian descent. Club career Born in Riga, Vīts Rimkus started his career in 1993 with Pārdaugava Rīga, scoring twice in 14 league appearances. After a promising start youngster was transferred to DAG Rīga in 1994. He played 15 league games for the team and scored three goals that season. He kept changing clubs and the next season was spent with another club from Riga, Amstrig Rīga. The 1995 season turned out to be a loud start of his career as he managed to net eight times in 26 matches. Several offers to go abroad appeared and the player chose to move to Switzerland, signing a contract with FC Winterthur.
