Vito Arujau
Vitali Orujov (russian: Виталий Оруджов; born June 1, 1999) is an American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler who competes at 61 kilograms. In freestyle, he is the reigning World Champion at 61kg, as well as a two-time Pan-American gold medalist and the 2023 US National champion. In folkstyle, Arujau is the reigning NCAA Division I National champion at 133 pounds out of Cornell University. Folkstyle career High school Arujau attended Syosset High School in Syosset, New York. He started wrestling on the varsity team as an eighth grader ('12–'13) and placed second in the state tournament that year, losing to eventual teammate Yianni Diakomihalis in the 99-pound final. After his setback in the state final, he did not lose another match in his high-school career and ended with a 216–1 record and four NYSPHSAA titles. Syosset (also known as Little East Woods or Locust Grove) is a hamlet and census-designated place in the Town of Oyster Bay, in Nassau County, on the North Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. Collegiate wrestling (also known as folkstyle wrestling) is the form of wrestling practiced at the college and university level in the United States. This style of wrestling, with some slight modifications, is also practiced at high school and middle school levels, and also among younger participants. Yianni Diakomihalis (born John Michael Diakomihalis on April 11, 1999) is an American freestyle and folkstyle wrestler who competes at 65 kilograms and 149 pounds. In freestyle, he is the 2022 world silver medalist, a two-time US World Team member (2021 and 2022), the 2020 Pan American champion, the 2019 US Open national champion, and a two-time age-group world champion. As a collegiate wrestler, Diakomihalis was a four-time NCAA Division I champion and four-time EIWA champion out of Cornell University. Scholastic wrestling, also known in the United States as folkstyle wrestling, is a style of amateur wrestling practiced at the high school and middle school levels in the United States. This wrestling style is essentially collegiate wrestling with some slight rule modifications. Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association
The Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) is an NCAA Division I collegiate wrestling conference. It held its first championship tournament in 1905, making it the oldest wrestling conference in the NCAA; the charter members were Columbia, Pennsylvania, Princeton, and Yale. Thirty-two different schools have been members of the EIWA during its history, all schools from the Eastern United States.
