''Visual Studies'' is a triannual peer-reviewed academic journal of visual studies published by Taylor & Francis on behalf of the International Visual Sociology Association. The journal was established in 1986 as ''Visual Sociology'', obtaining its current name in 2002. The editor-in-chief is Darren Newbury (University of Brighton). International Visual Sociology Association
The International Visual Sociology Association (IVSA) is an international association for "visual sociology, visual studies, visual ethnography, documentary film and photography, public art, arts-based research, and visual literacy and education." Scopus is Elsevier's abstract and citation database launched in 2004. Scopus covers nearly 36,377 titles (22,794 active titles and 13,583 inactive titles) from approximately 11,678 publishers, of which 34,346 are peer-reviewed journals in top-level subject fields: life sciences, social sciences, physical sciences and health sciences. It covers three types of sources: book series, journals, and trade journals. The International Bibliography of the Social Sciences (IBSS) is a bibliography for social science and interdisciplinary research. The database focuses on the social science disciplines of anthropology, economics, politics and sociology, and related interdisciplinary subjects, such as development studies, human geography and environment and gender studies.
