Viseyie Koso
Viseyie Koso (born 25 March 1984) is an Indian professional Sepak Takraw player from Nagaland. In 2010, Koso became the first Naga sportsman to represent India at the 2010 Asian Games held in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. He also participated in the 2014 Asian Games held at Incheon in the Seoul National Capital Area, South Korea. Biography Early life Viseyie Koso was born on 25 March 1984, in Viswema, Nagaland. Koso did his graduation from St. Joseph's College, Jakhama. Career Koso participated in the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou that was held from 16 to 20 November at the Haizhu Sports Center becoming the first Naga sportsman to represent India at an Asian Games. At the 2014 Asian Games, 17th Asian Games in 2014 in South Korea, Korea, Koso and Keneileno Nakhro along with Nagaland Sepaktakraw coach, Holshe Khrie-o represented the Indian Sepaktakraw team. Sepak Takraw Players At The 2010 Asian Games
Sepak takraw, or Sepaktakraw, also called kick volleyball, is a team sport played with a ball made of rattan or synthetic plastic between two teams of two to four players on a court resembling a badminton court. It is similar to volleyball and footvolley in its use of a rattan ball and players using only their feet, knees, shoulders, chest and head to touch the ball. Sepak Takraw is often referred to as a mixture of volleyball, due to its use of a net, and association football, as players use their feet. The sport's modern version was introduced, developed and standardized in 1960 when officials from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Myanmar met in Kuala Lumpur to agree on a name and standard rules for it. Viswema (), is a Southern Angami Naga village located 22 km south of Kohima, the capital of Nagaland, India. With a resident population of 7417, it is the second biggest village in the state and is part of the contiguous built-up of the Kohima Metropolitan Area that extends into the neighboring areas of Jakhama, Kigwema and Khuzama in the Southern Angami region, forming the second largest urban agglomerations in Nagaland.
