''Visages de femmes'' (Faces of Women), is a 1985 Ivorian comedy drama film directed and produced by Desiré Ecaré for Films de la Lagune. The film stars Albertine N'Guessan in the lead role whereas Sidiki Bakaba, Kouadou Brou, Eugénie Cissé-Roland and Véronique Mahilé made supportive roles. The film revolves around Mrs. Congas, who runs a fish-drying business in a coastal city and her struggle to survive with her two daughter amidst of males of the city. The film made its premier on 26 June 1985 in France. The film received mixed reviews from critics and screened in many film festivals. The film was screened for the 24th International Critics' Week (24e Semaine de la Critique). Albertine N'Guessan
Albertine N'Guessan Zebou Lou (died 22 April 2016) was an Ivorian actress. Biography N'Guessan trained at the National Institute of Arts (INA) in Abidjan. In 1972, she performed alongside Bitty Moro, Aboubakar Cyprien Touré and Noël Guié in the play ''Les gens des marais'', written by Wolé Soyinka and directed by Jean Favarel. In 1977, N'Guessan starred in ''The Tragedy of King Christophe'' by Aimé Césaire, directed by Bitty Moro. Between 1986 and 1987, she acted in the scenic production by Kodjo Ébouclé of ''Une femme à rent'', a play by François Campeaux. In 1984, N'Guessan starred in '' Ablakon'', directed by Désiré Ecaré. Sidiki Bakaba
Sidiki Bakaba (born in Abengourou, 1949) is an actor, scenario writer and director from Côte d'Ivoire. He lives and works in Abidjan. After studying at the National School of Drama of Abidjan, he conducted training at the Living Theatre and with Grotowski. In 2000, he became the director of the Palace of Culture of Abidjan (Palais de la Culture d'Abidjan) located at Treichville. He also founded the Actor's Studio (an actor training school in the Palace of Culture) Along with a significant acting career, he produced fiction films, documentaries such as ''Les Guérisseurs'' (1988) which won the award for best music at the Francophone Film Festival, as well as the Voice of Hope at FESPACO Ouagadougou in 1989. The International Critics' Week (french: Semaine de la Critique) was founded in 1962 and is organized by the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics.
