Eliso Virsaladze
Eliso Virsaladze ( ka, ელისო ვირსალაძე; born September 14, 1942) is a Georgia (country), Georgian pianist. Biography She was born in Tbilisi, Georgian SSR. Her father Constantine Virsaladze was a prominent doctor and scientist, so was her grandfather Spiridon Virsaladze. She received her first piano lessons at the age of 9 from her grandmother, Anastasia Virsaladze, a well-known pianist and professor in Georgia. From the age of 9, she also started receiving lessons from Heinrich Neuhaus up until his last days. She graduated from the Tbilisi State Conservatory (Class of Anastasia Virsaladze), and continued her education as a postgraduate student at the Moscow Conservatory with Yakov Zak. She has also played for Alexander Goldenweiser (composer), A. Goldenweiser and Nathan Perelman, N. Perelman many times. Simon Virsaladze
Simon (Soliko) Virsaladze ( ka, სოლომონ(სოლიკო) ვირსალაძე) (13 January 1909 – 7 February 1989) was a Georgian and one of the Soviet Union's leading designers of ballet, film and opera. He also worked as collaborator with the founders of Georgian National Ballet company, Iliko Sukhishvili and Nino Ramishvili, in the creation of classic Georgian costumes. Life and career He was born in Tbilisi. As a child he studied both ballet and art, and although he went on to design for plays, operas, and films it is as a ballet designer that he made his name. He was chief designer for the Zacharia Paliashvili Theatre for Opera and Ballet in Tbilisi (1932–1936) and designed Vakhtang Chabukiani's The Heart of the Hills (1938) for the Kirov in Leningrad, where he eventually became chief designer (1945–1962). Anastasia Virsaladze
Anastasia Virsaladze née Abdushelishvili, Georgian: ანასტასია ვირსალაძე, (November 11, 1883 – September 5, 1968) was a Georgian concert pianist and music teacher. In 1921, she began to teach at the Tbilisi Conservatory. Promoted to professor in 1929, she remained there until her retirement in 1966, teaching over 100 pianists. Among her most prominent students were Dmitri Bashkirov, Lev Vlassenko and her own granddaughter Eliso Virsaladze. Biography Born in Kutaisi on 11 November 1883, Anastasia Virsaladze studied at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory under Anna Yesipova, graduating in 1909 with distinction. The Georgians, or Kartvelians (; ka, ქართველები, tr, ), are a nation and indigenous Caucasian ethnic group native to Georgia and the South Caucasus.
