Virginia Hunter
Virginia Hunter (née Reed; February 17, 1920 – March 23, 2012) was an American model and actress. She appeared in over 20 films during the 1940s. Early years Hunter was the daughter of Freeman A. Reed. Hunter grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, before her family moved to Los Angeles in 1940. Career Hunter signed with Columbia Pictures. At Columbia, she performed in the Jack Cole Dance group before acting in films. She quickly became known to matinee audiences at the time for co-starring in four of the Durango Kid films. She also has a supporting role in ''The Mating of Millie'', starring Glenn Ford and Evelyn Keyes. To modern viewers, Hunter is known for her roles in several Three Stooges films from the Shemp Howard era, specifically ''Sing a Song of Six Pants'', '' I'm a Monkey's Uncle'' (and its remake '' Stone Age Romeos'') and '' Fiddlers Three'' (and its remake ''Musty Musketeers''). ''Sing a Song of Six Pants'' is a 1947 short subject directed by Jules White starring American slapstick comedy team The Three Stooges (Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Shemp Howard). Plot The Stooges run a tailor shop that is about to be repossessed by the Skin and Flint Finance Corporation. When the Boys hear about a big reward for fugitive bank robber Terry "Slippery Fingered" Hargan (Harold Brauer), they think that catching him might end their financial woes. Hargan conveniently ducks into their shop as the officer (Vernon Dent) enters and leaves a suit with a safe combination in its pocket. Shemp Howard
Samuel Horwitz (March 11, 1895 – November 22, 1955), known professionally as Shemp Howard, was an American actor and comedian. He was called "Shemp" because "Sam" came out that way in his mother's thick Lithuanian Yiddish, Litvak accent. He is best known as the third Stooge in the Three Stooges, a role he played when the act began in the early 1920s (1923–1932), while it was still associated with Ted Healy and known as "Ted Healy and his Stooges"; and again from 1946 until his death in 1955. During the fourteen years between his times with the Stooges, he had a successful solo career as a film comedian, including series of shorts by himself and with partners. He reluctantly returned to the Stooges as a favor to his brother Moe Howard, Moe and friend Larry Fine to replace his brother Curly Howard, Curly as the third Stooge after Curly's illness.
