''Virginia's Husband'' is a 1934 British comedy film directed by Maclean Rogers and starring Dorothy Boyd, Reginald Gardiner and Enid Stamp-Taylor. The screenplay concerns a woman who enlists a man to pose as her husband to trick her aunt. The play by Florence Kilpatrick on which the film is based, had previously been adapted as a silent film in 1928. Tom Helmore
Tom Helmore (4 January 1904 – 12 September 1995) was an English film actor. He appeared in more than 50 films between 1927 and 1972, including three directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Helmore was born in London, England and died in Longboat Key, Florida, USA. Helmore worked in his father's accounting firm while working as an extra in films. He subsequently pursued acting as a career, working predominantly on the stage, and later on Broadway, which led to Helmore's Hollywood career. In British and American films, Helmore was mostly employed as a dapper, comedic actor, even if he is best known for his role as the villain Gavin Elster in ''Vertigo''. Andreas Malandrinos
Andreas Malandrinos ( el, Ανδρέας Μαλανδρίνος; 14 November 1888, in Greece – 11 July 1970, in Surrey) was a Greek-born actor who started appearing in British films from 1930, until his death 40 years later in Surrey, England. He was fluent in six languages and used this talent to good effect to flourish as a dialect comedian in British music halls. Many of his film appearances were so fleeting that his characters often had no names, only descriptions, e.g. "Valet with violin" in ''The Prince and the Showgirl'' (1957) and "Woodcutter" in ''The Fearless Vampire Killers'' (1967). During his stage career, Andreas Malandrinos billed himself simply as Malandrinos; conversely, his movie billing was often simply "Andreas." Walter Sydney Vinnicombe (26 September 1888 – 27 October 1970) was an English actor and comedian. He worked in film, television and theatre. Biography Vinnicombe was born in Willesden, Middlesex and began working on the music hall stages in 1912 and at regular theatres in 1938 at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. His first film appearance was in 1928, and went on to appear in 213 other films. He worked up to his death, with his last television appearance in the comedy '' Doctor in the House'' in 1970.
