Virgil Franchetti
Virgil Peter Franchetti (6 March 1954) is a Scottish retired amateur football forward who played in the Scottish League for Queen's Park and Clyde. He was capped by Scotland at amateur level. Shettleston
Shettleston ( sco, Shuttlestoun, gd, Baile Nighean Sheadna) is a district in the east end of Glasgow in Scotland. Toponymy The origin of the name 'Shettleston' is not clear and, like many place-names of possibly medieval origin, has had a multitude of spellings. A papal bull of 1179 refers to "villam filie Sedin" - the residence of Sedin's son or daughter. A Gaelic derivation suggests "the daughter of Seadna". The Scotland national amateur football team was the amateur representative team for Scotland at football. It was formed in 1926 and continued until 1974. History Origins and first match (1893–1926) Following the adoption of professionalism in 1893, the Scotland national football team continued to field both professional and amateur players, but by the outbreak of the First World War in 1914, the number of amateurs winning international caps was in decline. The Scottish Football League (SFL) was a league featuring professional and semi-professional football clubs mostly from Scotland.One club, Berwick Rangers, is based in the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, which is located approximately 4 km south of the Anglo-Scottish border.
