Viresh Borkar
Viresh Mukesh Borkar (born 29 June 1993) is an Indian politician and businessman who serves as a member of the Goa Legislative Assembly and an executive member of the Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP), of which he was a founding member during its time as a non-governmental organization while serving as its president. In the 2022 Goa Legislative Assembly election, Borkar won the St. Andre Assembly constituency on the RGP ticket. Borkar won the RGP's first seat in the assembly by defeating four-time MLA and former sports minister Francisco Silveira of the Bharatiya Janata Party by a margin of 76 votes. He became the youngest legislator (28) to be elected to the assembly since Mauvin Godinho (25) and Victor Gonsalves (27) were elected in 1989. Neura (; also known as Velakula – History of Goa, the official name until 1310 CE) is a village located in the Tiswadi taluka of Goa, India. The Goa liberation movement was a movement which fought to end Portuguese colonial rule in Goa, Portuguese India. The movement built on the small scale revolts and uprisings of the 19th century, and grew powerful during the period 1940–1961. The movement was conducted both inside and outside Goa, and was characterised by a range of tactics including nonviolent demonstrations, revolutionary methods and diplomatic efforts. A Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) is a representative elected by the voters of an electoral district (constituency) to the legislature of State government in the Indian system of government.
