''Violent Noise'' is the fifth studio album by American metalcore band The Word Alive. It was released on May 4, 2018, through Fearless Records. The album was produced by Matt Good and it is also the first album to feature Matt Horn as an official member, previously having played on the band's second album '' Life Cycles'' as a session member. Background and promotion The album was revealed on March 29, 2018, with the lead single "Red Clouds". The second single, "Why Am I Like This?", was released alongside a music video on April 20. It is their first album without bassist Daniel Shapiro and drummer Luke Holland since '' Life Cycles''. Both members left the band before recording started. The Word Alive
The Word Alive is an American metalcore band formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2008. The band was signed to Fearless Records since their formation. In 2022, they changed their label and signed to Thriller Records. The band currently consists of vocalist Tyler Smith and guitarist Zack Hansen. The group has had several line-up changes throughout their career, with Hansen as the only remaining founding member. Their second EP, ''Empire'' reached No. 15 on the Top Heatseekers, meeting a great amount of positive acclaim upon its release in 2009. The following year, the group recorded and released their debut studio album, '' Deceiver'' on August 31, 2010, which reached No. 97 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and 15 on Independent Albums. Asking Alexandria are a British rock band from York, North Yorkshire, consisting of guitarists Ben Bruce and Cameron Liddell, drummer James Cassells, lead vocalist Danny Worsnop, and bassist Sam Bettley. Initially formed in 2006 by Ben Bruce, the band officially established as a six-piece in 2008 with the founding line-up consisting of Bruce, Worsnop, Cassells, Liddell, Joe Lancaster and Ryan Binns. Tyler Smith (born August 9, 1986), also known by his nickname Telle, is an American musician and songwriter. He is currently the lead vocalist of Arizona metalcore band The Word Alive and has played in several bands, such as Greeley Estates and In Fear and Faith. He is known for his tenor singing voice, wide vocal range and ability to comprehensively alternate between melodic and screamed vocals. Musical career Smith joined In Fear and Faith as one of their two lead vocalists in May 2007 to replace founding vocalist Jarred DeArmas. Luke Daniel Holland (born June 14, 1993) is an American drummer, most popular for his YouTube videos. Biography He was born in Peoria, Arizona. Despite his father being a professional drummer, Holland gained interest in the drums after hearing his neighbor playing at the age of 10. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. ''Life Cycles'' is the second studio album by American metalcore band The Word Alive. The album was released on July 3, 2012 through Fearless Records and was produced by Joey Sturgis. The album features a heavier and more "metal-headed" sound as stated by lead vocalist Tyler Smith. ''Life Cycles'' is the first release by the band to be without keyboardist, Dusty Riach, who parted ways with the band at the beginning of 2012. During the album session a total of 17 tracks were recorded, although only 13 of the tracks made it on the album. A deluxe version was originally planned; however, it never came to fruition. However, both Amazon and iTunes digital versions have a bonus track respectively.
