Viola Beach
Viola Beach were an English indie rock group, formed in Warrington, Cheshire, in 2013. The band's final line-up consisted of Kris Leonard (guitar and vocals), River Reeves (guitar), Tomas Lowe (bass guitar), and Jack Dakin (drums). All four, along with their manager Craig Tarry, were killed when their car fell from a bridge in Södertälje, Sweden on 13 February 2016. In the week following the crash, their single " Boys That Sing" entered the UK Singles Chart at number 80 and their previous single " Swings & Waterslides" entered at number 11, following a public campaign to boost sales. In the same week, "Swings & Waterslides" also entered at number three on the sales-only chart (which excludes streaming data) and "Boys That Sing" entered at number 27 on the same chart. Warrington () is a town and unparished area in the borough of the same name in the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, on the banks of the River Mersey. Reading And Leeds Festivals
The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music festivals that take place in Reading and Leeds in England. The events take place simultaneously on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The Reading Festival is held at Little John's Farm on Richfield Avenue in central Reading, near Caversham Bridge. The Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, the grounds of a historic house. Britpop
Britpop was a mid-1990s British-based music culture movement that emphasised Britishness. It produced brighter, catchier alternative rock, partly in reaction to the popularity of the darker lyrical themes of the US-led grunge music and to the UK's own shoegaze music scene. Coasts was an English rock band formed in Bristol in 2011. The group consisted of Chris Caines (vocals), Liam Willford (guitar), James Gamage (bass), David Goulbourn (keyboards) and Ben Street (drums). They are most notable for achieving two UK top 40 albums, the second of which reached the top 20. They are also known for their singles "A Rush of Blood" and "Oceans". The Kooks () are an English pop-rock band formed in 2004 in Brighton. The band consists of Luke Pritchard (vocals/rhythm guitar), Hugh Harris (lead guitar/synthesizer/bass) and Alexis Nunez (drums). Hooton Tennis Club is a four-piece indie-rock band from the Wirral consisting of Ryan Murphy (vocals/guitar), James Madden (vocals/guitar), Callum McFadden (bass) and Harry Chalmers (drums) formed in 2013.
