''Viol@'' is a 1998 Italian erotic drama film directed by Donatella Maiorca. Plot Marta, behind the nickname "Viol@", decided to experience the thrill of virtual sex. Her interlocutor, a mysterious man named Mittler, seems to be able to please her to the point of being able to maneuver her in all respects in real life, away from the computer. Marta then starts to live at the mercy of the mysterious caller losing her job and her social relations. After her dog Oliver dies as a result of her irresponsibility, the woman decides to break free from the trap and to find out who Mittler is. Donatella Maiorca
Donatella Maiorca (born September 13, 1957, in Messina) is an Italian film director. Career Donatella Maiorca began working as an actress and assistant director while she was a student of psychology at the Sapienza University of Rome. In 1981 she worked as an assistant director for Luciano Odorisio, and she eventually got to work on the sets of some cinematic films like ''Odd Squad'' (1981), directed by E.B. Clucher, and ''Big Deal After 20 Years'' (1985), directed by Amanzio Todini. In 1996 she debuted as director, making a documentary for Rai 3. Two years later came her cinematic debut: ''Viol@'', with Stefania Rocca. Maiorca also garnered nominations for the Golden Globes and Nastro d'Argento for Best New Director. Stefania Rocca (born 24 April 1971) is an Italian actress. She is best known for her roles in the films ''Nirvana'' (1997), ''The Talented Mr. Ripley'' (1999) and ''Dracula'' (2002). Rocca also was the lead in Dario Argento's ''The Card Player''. Among her most recent appearances, she was in Alessandro D'Alatri's comedy film ''Commediasexi'' where she played the main character, Pia Roncaldi. She starred as Hannah in the 1997 film ''Solomon''. Rolando Ravello (born 4 June 1969) is an Italian actor, director and screenwriter. Life and career Born in Rome, at young age Ravello founded a comedy ensemble with Manuela Morabito e Renato Giordano, and in 1988 the trio co-hosted the RAI children variety show ''Big''. Later, he attended some acting courses and performed in several small theaters in his hometown. Ravello had his breakout in 1995, with the main role of Vincenzo in Ettore Scola's ''Romanzo di un giovane povero''. Also active on television, in 2001 he made his directorial debut with the short film ''La Colla''. His 2013 film ''Tutti contro tutti'' was nominated for Nastro d'Argento for best comedy film. Ennio Fantastichini (20 February 1955 – 1 December 2018) was an Italian actor. Life and career Born in Gallese, province of Viterbo, Fantastichini studied acting at the Accademia Nazionale di Arte Drammatica Silvio D'Amico. His breakout role was Tommaso Scalia in Gianni Amelio's '' Open Doors'', a role that gave him a Nastro d'Argento, a Ciak d'oro and a special European Film Award as European Discovery of the Year. In 2010, for his performance in Ferzan Özpetek's '' Loose Cannons'', he won a David di Donatello for best supporting actor and a second Nastro d'Argento in the same category. Fantastichini died of acute promyelocytic leukemia in Naples on 1 December 2018, at the age of 63.
