Vincent Jeanbrun (born 5 May, 1984) is a French politician from the political party The Republicans. Since 2014, he has been mayor of L'Haÿ-les-Roses and was reelected in 2020. Roxana Maracineanu (; born 7 May 1975) is a Romanian-born French politician, former swimming champion and television consultant who served as Minister Delegate in charge of Sports in the government of Prime Minister Jean Castex (2020–2022) and as Minister of Sports under Édouard Philippe (2018–2022). Born in Romania, Maracineanu moved to France as a child, acquiring the citizenship via naturalisation at age 16. An accomplished swimmer Maracineanu became the first French world swimming champion in January 1998. She won silver medal in the 200 m backstroke at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. Rachel Keke Raïssa (; born 30 May 1974) is an Ivorian-born French politician and former chambermaid. A member of the National Assembly since 2022, she represents the 7th constituency of the Val-de-Marne department. She is a member of La France Insoumise (LFI). Early life Keke was born on 30 May 1974 in Abobo , Ivory Coast. Her father was a bus driver and her mother sold clothing, until her death when Keke was 12. Her grandfather fought with the French forces during World War II. At the age of 16, she began working as a hairdresser and other little jobs. Keke moved to France in 2000 (following the 1999 Ivorian coup d'état that overthrew Henri Konan Bédié), taking up a job as a hairdresser in the hair salon of a relative, also finding work as a chambermaid and housekeeper. Nahel Merzouk Protests
A series of riots in France began on 27 June 2023 following the Killing of Nahel Merzouk, fatal shooting of Nahel Merzouk in an encounter with two police officers in Nanterre, a suburb of Paris. Residents started a protest outside the police headquarters on the 27 June, which later escalated into rioting as demonstrators set cars alight, destroyed bus stops, and shot fireworks at police. In Viry-Châtillon, a town just south of Paris with a history of violence towards police, a group of teenagers set a bus ablaze. In Mantes-la-Jolie, a town 40 km northwest of Paris, the town hall was set ablaze after being firebombed on the night of 27 June, burning until 03:15 (Central European Summer Time, CEST). Clashes continued throughout the night across France, including Toulouse and Lille.
