Vince Williams (American Football)
Vincenzo Jerard Williams (born December 27, 1989) is a former American football linebacker. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round of the 2013 NFL Draft after his college career at Florida State and played his entire eight-year professional career with the Steelers. High school career Williams played high school football for Ridge Community High School and was one of the state's top linebackers. He was teammates with Mike James. Williams was named Polk County Defensive Player of the Year as a junior and 3A second-team All-State honors as a senior. He amassed almost 300 tackles with 48 tackles for loss and 25 sacks over three varsity seasons. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). A rivalry is the state of two people or groups engaging in a lasting competitive relationship. Rivalry is the "against each other" spirit between two competing sides. 2011 Champs Sports Bowl
The 2011 Champs Sports Bowl, the 22nd edition of the game, was a post-season American college football bowl game, held on December 29, 2011, at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida as part of the 2011–12 NCAA bowl season. The game, which was telecast at 5:30 p.m. ET on ESPN and ESPN 3D, featured a team from the Atlantic Coast Conference versus a team from the Big East Conference. Invitations were accepted by Florida State and Notre Dame to play in the contest on December 4. It was FSU's second Champs Bowl, and Notre Dame's first. Samford Bulldogs Football
The Samford Bulldogs football program is the intercollegiate American football team for Samford University located in Homewood, Alabama. The team competes at the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) level as a member of the Southern Conference (SoCon). Samford's first football team was fielded in 1902. The team was known as the Howard Bulldogs through the 1965 season when Howard College was renamed as Samford University. Howard was located in Birmingham, Alabama prior to 1957. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Typically, a student's athletic eligibility in a given sport is four seasons, aligning with the four years of academic classes typically required to earn a bachelor's degree at an American college or university. However, in a redshirt year, student athletes may attend classes at the college or university, practice with an athletic team, and "suit up" (wear a team uniform) for play – but they may compete in only a limited number of games (see " Use of status" section). Nigel Bradham
Nigel Bradham (born September 4, 1989) is a former American football linebacker. He played college football at Florida State University. He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft, and played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2016 to 2019. High school career At Wakulla High School, Bradham had consecutive 145-tackle seasons, including a senior campaign in which he also registered 12 sacks and four defensive touchdowns in leading Wakulla to a district championship and a first-round playoff berth, where they lost 13–8 to Panama City Beach Arnold. The 2008 Miami Hurricanes football team represented the University of Miami during the 2008 NCAA Division I FBS football season. It was the Hurricanes' 83rd season of football and 5th as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Dekoda Watson (born March 3, 1988) is a former American football linebacker. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft. Derek Nicholson (born November 30, 1986) is the inside linebackers coach at Miami (FL) and a former American football linebacker. He played college football at Florida State Seminoles Football and previously coached at Southern Miss and Louisville.
