Vince Albritton
Vince Denader Albritton (born July 23, 1962) is a former American football safety in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at the University of Washington. Early years Albritton attended McClymonds High School, where he focused mainly on baseball. As a senior in football, he set a school record with 8 interceptions, received All-OAL honors and helped his team win the Oakland Athletic League. He accepted a football scholarship from the University of Washington. He played in the same defensive backfield with future NFL players Vince Newsome and Ray Horton. He became a starter at strong safety until his senior season and led the secondary in tackles. 1984 NFL Draft
The 1984 NFL Draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held May 1–2, 1984, at the Omni Park Central Hotel in New York City, New York. No teams elected to claim any players in the regular supplemental draft that year. The NFL did have a special supplemental draft for college seniors who had already signed with the USFL or CFL on June 5, 1984. The New York Giants are a professional American football team based in the New York metropolitan area. Bill Bates
William Frederick Bates (born June 6, 1961) is a former American football safety who played for fifteen seasons in the National Football League, all of which were spent with the Dallas Cowboys. A fan favorite, he was a Pro Bowl selection in 1984, played in Super Bowl XXVIII and Super Bowl XXX, and was on the Cowboys' roster for Super Bowl XXVII. He played college football at the University of Tennessee. Early years Bates attended Farragut High School in Farragut, Tennessee, where he played under rising head coach Ken Sparks. The 1989 NFL season was the 70th regular season of the National Football League. Before the season, NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle announced his retirement. Paul Tagliabue was eventually chosen to succeed him, taking over on November 5. Oakland Raiders
The Oakland Raiders were a professional American football team that played in Oakland from its founding in 1960 to 1981 and again from 1995 to 2019 before relocating to the Las Vegas metropolitan area where they now play as the Las Vegas Raiders. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured.
