Vinay Kumar Jha
Vinay Kumar Jha (born 21 June 1971) is a Nepalese cricket umpire, who is on the Associates and Affiliates Umpire Panel of the International Cricket Council (ICC). He stood in matches in the 2009 ICC World Cricket League Division Six tournament and in the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship fixtures between Nepal and Kenya in March 2017. On 18 April 2021, he stood in his first Twenty20 International (T20I) as an on-field umpire, in the match between the Netherlands and Malaysia in the 2020–21 Nepal Tri-Nation Series. On 26 March 2022, he stood in his first One Day International (ODI) as an on-field umpire, in the match between Nepal and Papua New Guinea in the 2021–22 Nepal T20I Tri-Nation Series. He has officiated in 8 ODIs, 12 T20Is and 19 women's T20Is. 2020–21 Nepal Tri-Nation Series
The 2020–21 Nepal Tri-Nation Series was a Twenty20 international cricket tournament that took place in April 2021 in Nepal. The participating teams were Nepal, Malaysia and the Netherlands. The matches were all played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. The tournament was played in a double round-robin format, followed by a final between the top two sides. The penultimate round-robin match, between Malaysia and the Netherlands, ended in a tie. It was a rain-curtailed game with no Super Over taking place due to the lost time. This result meant that the Netherlands and Nepal advanced to the final. The 2021–22 Nepal T20I Tri-Nation Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that took place in Nepal from 28 March to 4 April 2022. The participating teams were the hosts Nepal along with Malaysia and Papua New Guinea. The matches were played at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. On 12 March 2022, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) confirmed all the fixtures. Before the tri-nation series, Nepal played two One Day International (ODI) matches against Papua New Guinea. Papua New Guinea won both of the matches, winning by six runs in the first ODI and three wickets in the second ODI. In the tri-nation series, Nepal became the first team to qualify for the final, after they won their first three matches. A One Day International (ODI) is a form of limited overs cricket, played between two teams with international status, in which each team faces a fixed number of overs, currently 50, with the game lasting up to 9 hours. The Cricket World Cup, generally held every four years, is played in this format. One Day International matches are also called Limited Overs Internationals (LOI), although this generic term may also refer to Twenty20 International matches.
