Vimalachatra ( th, วิมลฉัตร; ; 27 June 1921 – 5 December 2009), was a Princess of Thailand and member of the Thai royal family, a granddaughter of Chulalongkorn, King Chulalongkorn. She was one of the longest-living royal personages in Thailand. Biography Princess Vimalachatra was born on 27 June 1921, in Bangkok, Thailand. She is the second daughter and youngest child of Purachatra Jayakara, Prince Purachatra Jayakara, the Prince of Kamphaengphet (son of Chulalongkorn and Wad Kalyanamitra, Chao Chom Manda Wad). Her mother is Princess Prabhavasidhi Narumala of Siam (daughter of Chaturanta Rasmi, Prince Chaturanta Rasmi, the Prince Chakrabadibongse and Mom Rajawongse Savang Siriwongse. She is the direct granddaughter of King Chulalongkorn and also the great-granddaughter of Mongkut. Purachatra Jayakara, Prince of Kamphaengphet ( th, บุรฉัตรไชยากร; ; 23 January 1881 – 14 September 1936) was a Prince of Siam and a member of the Siamese Royal Family (later Thailand). He founded the House of Chatrajaya (), his descendants still use this royal surname. He was a son of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V the Great) of Siam. He was often called the ''Father of the Thai radio'' and the ''Father of the Thai railways'', due to his contributions in both fields. The Chakri dynasty ( th, ราชวงศ์ จักรี, , , ) is the current reigning dynasty of the Kingdom of Thailand, the head of the house is the king, who is head of state. The family has ruled Thailand since the founding of the Rattanakosin Era and the city of Bangkok in 1782; following the end of Taksin Thonburi's reign, when the capital of Siam shifted to Bangkok. The royal house was founded by Rama I, an Ayutthaya military leader of Sino- Mon descent. Prior to his accession to the throne, Rama I held for years the title Chakri, the civil chancellor. In founding the dynasty, the king himself chose "''Chakri''" as the name for it. Sri Suriyendra ( th, ศรีสุริเยนทร, , ; 1767–1836) was the queen of Siam, wife of Phutthaloetla Naphalai, who was her cousin, and mother of Mongkut and Pinklao. She was later named, upon the coronation of her son Mongkut, as ''Krom Somdet'' Phra Sri Suriyendramataya. Princess Bunrot () was a daughter of Princess Sri Sudarak (เจ้าฟ้ากรมพระศรีสุดารักษ์) (sister of Phutthayotfa Chulalok) and her Chinese husband Ngoen Saetan (). Phra Phutthaloetla Naphalai ( th, พระพุทธเลิศหล้านภาลัย, 24 February 1767 – 21 July 1824), personal name Chim ( th, ฉิม), also styled as Rama II, was the second monarch of Siam under the Chakri dynasty, ruling from 1809 to 1824. In 1809, Itsarasunthon succeeded his father Rama I, the founder of Chakri dynasty, as Loetlanaphalai the King of Siam. His reign was largely peaceful, devoid of major conflicts. His reign was known as the "Golden Age of Rattanakosin Literature" as Loetlanaphalai was patron to a number of poets in his court and the King himself was a renowned poet and artist. Queen Debsirindra of Siam ( th, เทพศิรินทรา, , ), formerly Queen Ramphoei Phamaraphirom ( th, รำเพยภมราภิรมย์), born Princess Ramphoei Siriwong ( th, รำเพย ศิริวงศ์; 17 July 1834 – 9 September 1862), was the second consort of King Mongkut, and mother of King Chulalongkorn.
