Vilmos Szabó
Vilmos Szabó (born 17 July 1952) is a Hungarian educator and Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) politician, member of the National Assembly (MP) between 1998 and 2014. He served as Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs from 2009 to 2010. Studies and profession Szabó was born in Sarud, Heves County on 17 July 1952. He finished his secondary studies in Debrecen in 1970. He attended Kossuth Lajos University (today Debrecen University) from 1970 to 1975, where he earned a degree of German-language and historian teacher. He was an assistant lecturer at the Budapest Technical University (BME) from 1976 to 1988. Political career Szabó joined the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party (MSZMP) in 1982. Later he became secretary of its Újbuda (11th District of Budapest) branch. He was a founding member of the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) in 1989. National Assembly Of Hungary
The National Assembly ( hu, Országgyűlés, lit=Country Assembly) is the parliament of Hungary. The unicameral body consists of 199 (386 between 1990 and 2014) members elected to 4-year terms. Election of members is done using a semi-proportional representation: a mixed-member majoritarian representation with partial scorporo, compensation via transfer votes and mixed single vote; involving single-member districts and one list vote; parties must win at least 5% of the popular vote in order to gain list seats assembly. The Assembly includes 25 standing committees to debate and report on introduced bills and to supervise the activities of the ministers. Péter Medgyessy
Péter Medgyessy (; born 19 October 1942) is a retired Hungarian politician who served as Prime Minister of Hungary from 27 May 2002 to 29 September 2004. On 25 August 2004, he resigned over disputes with coalition partner Alliance of Free Democrats, but remained as acting prime minister for a 30-day period as required by the Constitution, and a few additional days until his successor Ferenc Gyurcsány was confirmed by the National Assembly. Family and studies Medgyessy was born into an old Transylvanian noble family in Budapest on 19 October 1942. An ancestor of the family, Miklós Medgyessy de Medgyes, worked as a penman for Prince Gabriel Bethlen in the 17th century. Medgyessy's father, Béla Medgyessy, was a recorder in the General Assembly of Cluj until the Second Vienna Award, when Hungary reassigned the territory of Northern Transylvania from the Kingdom of Romania. György Gordon Bajnai (; born 5 March 1968) is a Hungarian entrepreneur and economist, who served as the Prime Minister of Hungary from 2009 to 2010. Prior to that, he functioned as Minister of Local Government and Regional Development from 2007 to 2008, then as Minister of National Development and Economy from 2008 to 2009.
