Florenville (; Gaumais: ''Floravile'') is a city and municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium. On 1 January 2016 the municipality had 5,639 inhabitants. The total area is 146.91 km², giving a population density of 38.38 inhabitants per km². It is located on the Semois River, facing the French border. The municipality consists of the following districts: Chassepierre, Florenville, Fontenoille, Lacuisine, Muno, Sainte-Cécile, and Villers-devant-Orval. Other population centers include: Azy, Conques, Laiche, Martué, Lambermont, Le Ménil, and Watrinsart. Orval Abbey is located in Villers-devant-Orval. Orval Abbey
Orval Abbey (Abbaye Notre-Dame d'Orval) is a Cistercian monastery founded in 1132 in the Gaume region of Belgium and is located in Villers-devant-Orval, part of Florenville, Wallonia in the province of Luxembourg. The abbey is well known for its history and spiritual life but also for its local production of the Trappist beer Orval and a specific cheese. History First foundation The site has been occupied since the Merovingian period, and there is evidence that there was already a chapel here in the 10th century. In 1070, a group of Benedictine monks from Calabria settled here, at the invitation of Arnould, Count of Chiny, and Conrad I, Count of Luxembourg, and began construction of a church and a monastery, but after some forty years, possibly because of the death of Count Arnould, they moved away again. Auflance
Auflance is a commune in the Ardennes department and Grand Est region of north-eastern France. Geography Auflance is located on the frontier of Belgium along its eastern border some 38 km east by south-east of Sedan and 17 km north-west of Montmédy. Access to the commune is by the D17 road from Puilly-et-Charbeaux in the north-west which passes through the centre of the commune and the village and continues to Sapogne-sur-Marche in the south-east. A small country road crosses the Belgian border and goes to Villers-Devant-Orval. The commune is mixed forest and farmland. The ''Marche'' river forms the south-eastern border of the commune as it flows south-west to join the Chiers near Margut. The ''Paquis'' river passes through the centre of the commune from north-west to south-east where it joins the ''Marche'' on the border of the commune.
