Villain (2020 Film)
''Villain'' is a 2020 British action crime drama film directed by Philip Barantini and starring Craig Fairbrass. It is Barantini's feature directorial debut. The film received generally positive reviews, was the critics choice in ''The New York Times'' and reached number seven in the US iTunes movie chart. Plot Eddie Franks has just been released from prison after completing a ten-year sentence. Eddie is determined to 'go straight' and return to his old life as the landlord of The Green Man in the East End of London. Unfortunately, he discovers that his younger brother, Sean, has let his pub become seedy and decrepit in his absence. Sean has also become a drug addict, is dating a stripper named Rikki and is in debt to local gangsters, the Garrett brothers for whom he had been working as a drug mule. Philip Barantini
Philip Barantini (born 13 July 1980) is a British film and TV director, producer, screenwriter and actor. He is best known for his intense one-shot feature Boiling Point (2021), starring Stephen Graham. Early life Barantini was born in Liverpool and grew up in Huyton, Merseyside. Career Early career Barantini was at first an actor, notably starring as Sergeant Wayne A. "Skinny" Sisk in HBO's '' Band of Brothers'' (2001). His other television roles include Billy O'Neill in ''Dream Team'' (1998-2000), Bezpalov in ''Chernobyl'' (2019), and Steve in '' The Responder'' (2022). Barantini starred as Steve Hart in the film ''Ned Kelly'' (2003) alongside Heath Ledger and Orlando Bloom. Rotten Tomatoes is an American review-aggregation website for film and television. The company was launched in August 1998 by three undergraduate students at the University of California, Berkeley: Senh Duong, Patrick Y. Lee, and Stephen Wang. Although the name "Rotten Tomatoes" connects to the practice of audiences throwing rotten tomatoes in disapproval of a poor stage performance, the original inspiration comes from a scene featuring tomatoes in the Canadian film ''Léolo'' (1992).
