South Shetland Islands
The South Shetland Islands are a group of Antarctic islands with a total area of . They lie about north of the Antarctic Peninsula, and between southwest of the nearest point of the South Orkney Islands. Bourchier Cove ( bg, залив Баучър, zaliv Bauchar, ) is the 2.35 km wide cove indenting for 860 m the northwest coast of Smith Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. Entered between Jireček Point and Villagra Point. The cove is named after Bourchier Peak in Rila Mountain, southwestern Bulgaria, in connection with the Irish journalist and Bulgarian activist James David Bourchier (1850–1920). Markeli Point ( bg, нос Маркели, ‘Nos Markeli’ \'nos mar-'ke-li\) is a point on the northwest coast of Smith Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica, projecting 1.2 km west-southwestwards into Drake Passage.
