Villa Nah
Villa Nah is a Finnish pop duo consisting of Juho Paalosmaa and Tomi Hyyppä. Villa Nah's sound is heavily influenced by 1980's synthpop. Jori Hulkkonen co-produced the band's debut album ''Origin'' and it was released in Finland in March 2010 by Sähkö Recordings Sähkö Recordings is a Finnish independent record label, based in Turku, Finland. Sähkö ("electricity" in Finnish) was founded by Tommi Grönlund in 1993. The label gained international acclaim by its minimalist electronic releases. Sähkö Rec ...'s sub label Keys of Life. Synth-pop (short for synthesizer pop; also called techno-pop; ) is a subgenre of new wave music that first became prominent in the late 1970s and features the synthesizer as the dominant musical instrument. It was prefigured in the 1960s and early 1970s by the use of synthesizers in progressive rock, electronic, art rock, disco, and particularly the Krautrock of bands like Kraftwerk. It arose as a distinct genre in Japan and the United Kingdom in the post-punk era as part of the new wave movement of the late 1970s to the mid-1980s. Electronic musical synthesizers that could be used practically in a recording studio became available in the mid-1960s, and the mid-1970s saw the rise of electronic art musicians. Jori Hulkkonen
Jori Hulkkonen (born 28 September 1973), is a Finnish DJ and a producer of house music, originally from Kemi, Finland. Hulkkonen started his career in the early 1990s when he worked with Jukka Hautamäki, Tuomas Salmela and Ari Ruokamo for their own label Lumi Records. In 1996 Hulkkonen signed a record deal with French record label F Communications; his debut album of the same year was called ''Selkäsaari Tracks''. Internationally, Hulkkonen's most popular recording is the single '' Sunglasses at Night'', a version of Corey Hart's 1980s hit, created together with Canadian producer Tiga. His most recent solo full-length ''Dualizm'', released in 2005, featured collaborations with John Foxx, Nick Triani, Tiga, Jerry Valuri, and José González.
