Vilapagalkkappuram
''Vilapangalkkappuram'' ( ml, വിലാപങ്ങള്ക്കപ്പുറം; ''Beyond the Wail'') is a Malayalam film scripted and directed by T. V. Chandran in 2008. The film is based on the aftermath of the 2002 Gujarat riots of 2002. It was the second movie in the trilogy based on the riots by the director with the first one being Kathavasheshan and the third and final one being Bhoomiyude Avakashikal. The main female lead Priyanka won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in this film. Plot Zahira (Priyanka) lives happily with her parents and younger sister in Ahmedabad, until a group of communalists wreaks havoc. After being gang raped, she barely manages to escape from the criminals before they set her ablaze. Kozhikode Shantha Devi
Damayanthi (1927 – 20 November 2010), better known by her stage name Kozhikode Santha Devi, was an Indian Malayalam film and stage actress. In a career spanning about sixty years, she acted in more than 1000 plays and about 480 films. Sudheesh (born 7 December 1972) is an Indian actor and director from Calicut who predominantly works in Malayalam film industry. He won Kerala State Film Awards for Best Character Actor in 2021. Aryadan Shoukath is both an award-winning Indian film producer, and an award-winning local state politician. He is the son of Indian National Congress leader, Aryadan Muhammed, (the former Kerala State Minister of Electricity).
