Vikas Shankar Kharage (विकास शंकर खारगे) (born 17 March 1968) is an Indian Administrative Service officer currently posted as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Government of Maharashtra since 9 December 2019. Early life and education Vikas Kharage was born in Vita, Maharashtra, a rural town of Deccan Peninsula in Sangli District of Maharashtra, on 17 March 1968. His father, a teacher by profession, and mother Rukmini reside in Malinagar where Vikas completed his primary education. Vita, also known as Vite, is a city and a municipal council in Sangli district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Vita is also taluka headquarters of Khanapur taluka. Demographics As of the 2011 Indian census, Vita had a population of 48,289, of which 24,692 were males and 23,597 were females. The population in the age group of 0 to 6 years was 5,321. Yavatmal ( is a city and municipal council in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the administrative headquarters of Yavatmal District. Yavatmal is around 90 km away from divisional headquarters Amravati while it is away from the state capital Mumbai. The name is derived from the Marathi ''Yavat'' (mountain) and ''mal'' (row). Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve
The Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is a wildlife sanctuary in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra state in India. It is Maharashtra's oldest and largest national park. Created in 1955, the reserve includes the Tadoba National Park and the Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary. The reserve consists of of reserved forest and of protected forest. Etymology "Tadoba" is taken from the name of the god "Tadoba" or "Taru", worshipped by the tribes who live in the dense forests of the Tadoba and Andhari region, while "Andhari" refers to the Andhari river that meanders through the forest. 2013 North India Floods
In June 2013, a mid-day cloudburst centered on the North Indian state of Uttarakhand caused devastating floods and landslides, becoming the country's worst natural disaster since the 2004 tsunami. The rainfall received that month was far greater than the rainfall the state usually received. Debris blocked the rivers, causing major overflow.The main day of the flood was 16 June 2013. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC, IAST: Puṇe Mahānagarpālikā) is the civic body that governs the inner limits of Pune, India.
