Anne Petrea Vik
Anne Petrea Vik (born 8 January 1933) is a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. From 1989 to 1990, while the cabinet Syse held office, Vik was appointed Minister of Agriculture. On the local level she was a member of Kvæfjord municipal council from 1975 to 1975, and later served as deputy mayor from 1995 to 1999. From 1979 to 1987 she was a member of Troms county council. From 1979 to 1984 she chaired the Centre Party Women's Association, during the same period she was a member of the Centre Party central party board. She was a member of the board of the Norwegian Agrarian Association from 1979 to 1984 and of Harstad University College from 1994 to 1997. Arnfinn Vik
Arnfinn Vik (20 May 1901 – 13 September 1990) was a Norwegian politician who served as Mayor of Oslo. He was born at Drammen in Buskerud, Norway. He participated in the Left Communist Youth League's military strike action of 1924. He was convicted for assisting in this crime and sentenced to 4 months of prison. He was secretary of the Oslo Labour Party in 1936 and was a member of the Oslo City Council from 1938. He was a central resistance member during the occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany (1940-1945) and served as a leader of the Norwegian resistance group, ''Hjemmefrontens Ledelse''. Bjarte Engen Vik (born 3 March 1971 in Tromsø) is a Norwegian former nordic combined athlete. He won the FIS World Cup overall twice, in 1997/98 and 1998/99 with a total of 24 wins. He also has eight medals from the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships with five golds (1997: 4 x 5 km team, 1999: 15 km individual, 7.5 km sprint, 2001: 15 km individual, 4 x 5 km team), and three silvers (1995: 4 x 5 km team, 1997: 15 km individual, 1999: 4 x 5 km team). He also won a bronze medal in the Norwegian championship in ski jumping. His consecutive wins in the Individual Gundersen at the Nordic skiing World Championships in 1999 and 2001 were the first since Oddbjørn Hagen did it in 1934 and 1935. Bjørg Vik (11 September 1935 – 7 January 2018) was a Norwegian novelist, short story writer, playwright, and journalist. Biography Bjørg Turid Vik was born in Oslo, Norway. Her parents were Sverre Thorbjørn Johansen (1903–1958) and Anna Sofie Marcussen (1902–1987). She grew up in the neighborhood of St. Hanshaugen in Oslo. She completed her ''examen artium'' at Hegdehaugen School in 1954 and attended the Journalist Academy in Oslo from 1955 to 1956. From 1956 to 1960, she was a journalist for the newspaper '' Porsgrunns Dagblad''. She made her literary debut in 1963 with the short story collection ''Søndag ettermiddag''. Further collections from the 1960s are ''Nødrop fra en myk sofa'' (1966) and ''Det grådige hjerte'' (1968). She also wrote five novels. Ingebrigt Vik
Ingebrigt Vik (5 March 1867 – 22 March 1927) was a Norwegian sculptor. Vik is regarded as having been one of Norway's greatest sculptors from the first part of the 20th century. Biography Ingebrigt Vik was born in the village of Øystese in the municipality of Kvam, Hordaland county, Norway. He was the son of Hans Gunnarson Tveit (1832–1901) and Ingebjørg Torgeirsdotter Vik (1841–1902). He grew up in Øystese and began as a wood carver in his father's factory. He trained as an artist at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen from 1889 to 1891. After surgery for tuberculosis in his left knee, he returned home to recover. In 1903 he moved to Paris and attended Académie Colarossi where he trained with sculptor Jean Antoine Injalbert. In 1906, he was assigned the Houens legat and studied in Italy. Oddmund Vik
Oddmund Jakobsen Vik (19 April 1858 – 12 February 1930) was a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party. He was born in Vik i Øystese as the son of farmer Jakob Larsen Vik (1828–1925) and his wife Magnhild Nilsdotter Laupsa (1828–1914). He graduated from the teacher's college at Stord in 1877, and worked as a teacher in Sund in 1878, at Sagatun folk high school the next year, in Telemark from 1879, in Askov from 1882 and Andebu from 1884 to 1888. In 1885 he wrote a piece in ''Dagbladet'', "Fra Ekserserpladsen Tvildemoen", which was seen as anti-military agitation. He was sentenced to 40 days in prison by a military court; the sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court. He was also ordered to pay NOK 100 in costs. However, the government of Norway changed the sentencing to ten days in prison and no costs.
