Vijay Kumar Bist
Vijay Kumar Bist (born: 17 September 1957) is an Indian Judge and former Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court and former Judge of Uttarakhand High Court. Career Bist was born in Lansdown, Pauri Garhwal district, in Uttarakhand. He passed from Intermediate College Kanskhet, Pauri Garhwal and completed LL.B. from Allahabad University. He started practice under Mr. S.P. Gupta, Senior Advocate from 1984 in the various courts of Uttar Pradesh as well as Allahabad High Court. In his lawyer career, Bist was the Legal advisor and Standing Counsel of Allahabad University, North Eastern Railway, various Corporations, Housing Federation, Development Authority like government undertaking institutions. After the formation of the Uttarakhand, he shifted to Nainital and also served as panel advocate of Uttarakhand State Government in the Uttarakhand High Court. Pauri Garhwal District
Pauri Garhwal is a district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Its headquarters is in the town of Pauri. It is sometimes referred to simply as Garhwal district, though it should not be confused with the larger Garhwal region of which it is only a part of. Garhwali People
The Garhwali people are an Indian ethnolinguistic group native to the Garhwal, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, who speak Garhwali, an Indo-Aryan language. Etymology In modern usage, "Garhwali" is used to refer to anyone whose linguistic, cultural, and ancestral or genetic origins is from the Garhwal Himalayas. Their ethnonym is derived from the word ‘''Garhwal''’ or '''Gadwal. The exact origin of the word Garhwal is unknown. The North Eastern Railway (abbreviated NER) is one of the 19 railway zones of Indian Railways in India. It is headquartered at Gorakhpur. Zonal Rail Training Institute (ZRTI) is established in district Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh. Allahabad High Court, also known as High Court of Judicature at Allahabad is the high court based in Prayagraj that has jurisdiction over the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was established on 17 March 1866, making it one of the oldest high courts to be established in India. History Prayagraj became the seat of Government of North-Western Provinces and a High Court was established in 1834 but was shifted to Agra within a year. In 1875 it shifted back to Prayagraj. The former High Court was located at the Accountant General's office at the University of Allahabad complex.
