STAR Vijay
Star Vijay is an Indian Tamil language general entertainment pay television channel owned by Disney Star (formerly Star India), a subsidiary of Asianet Star Communications. The channel's headquarters is in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Star Vijay changed hands several times before being partly acquired by the Star India in 2001. The channel telecasts Tamil language programmes such as serials, reality shows and Tamil films. History The channel was first launched by N. P. V. Ramasamy Udayar on 24 November 1994, as Golden Eagle Communication (GEC). United Breweries Group acquired the channel in 1995 and renamed it as Vijay TV. ''Dasavathaaram'' () is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language science fiction action film directed by K. S. Ravikumar. It stars Kamal Haasan, who also wrote the script, in ten distinct roles. Asin appears in two roles and Mallika Sherawat plays a subsidiary role. The plot of the film revolves around bringing together the lives of several individuals beginning with the 12th century and ending with the 21st century; the main person being a research scientist who develops a bio-weapon and makes sure that it is not acquired by a terrorist nation. Several other people also get involved in the process and all their stories connect after the striking of 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, thus bringing philosophical views into the picture. ''Vaaranam Aayiram'' () is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language action drama film written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and produced by Venu Ravichandran of Aascar Films. The film stars Suriya in dual lead roles as father and son, with Sameera Reddy (in her Tamil debut), Simran and Divya Spandana in lead roles. Rajeevan is an art director in Indian films. He is a graduate of Loyola College, Chennai. Career Rajeevan began doing art direction for ad films and television serials, before being given the opportunity to work in a feature film for the first time through Ameer's ''Mounam Pesiyadhe'' (2002). ''Polladhavan'' () is a 2007 Indian Tamil language, Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by Vetrimaran in his directorial debut. Starring Dhanush and Divya Spandana, the film revolves around a man whose life improves after buying a bike, and turns upside down after it is stolen. Three songs and the background score were composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, while Yogi B and Dhina composed each one song. Velraj was the director of cinematography, V. T. Early life Kathir was born in kalkarai, a small village in the Radhapuram Taluk of Tirunelveli District, state of Tamil Nadu, India.
