Vihiga Queens FC
Vihiga Queens FC, is a Kenyan professional women's football club based in Mbale, Vihiga County that competes in Kenyan Women's Premier League, the top tier of Kenyan football. The club is affiliated to the Football Kenya Federation The club has won the Premier League title on three consecutive occasions from 2017 to 2019. The team won the national league in 2019. In 2021, they were selected as the representative for Kenya at the CECAFA qualifiers which won by beating Ethiopian team CBE by 2–1 in the finals and qualified them to the inaugural 2021 CAF Women's Champions League. Boniface Nyamunyamu
Boniface, OSB ( la, Bonifatius; 675 – 5 June 754) was an English Benedictine monk and leading figure in the Anglo-Saxon mission to the Germanic parts of the Frankish Empire during the eighth century. He organised significant foundations of the church in Germany and was made archbishop of Mainz by Pope Gregory III. He was martyred in Frisia in 754, along with 52 others, and his remains were returned to Fulda, where they rest in a sarcophagus which has become a site of pilgrimage. The Kenyan Women's Premier League is the top tier women's football league in the Kenyan football league system. It is controlled by the Football Kenya Federation. History The first women's football league in Kenya has been created in 1985. In 2010 no league was running any more because of financial problems. UNICEF and the Kenyan government then sponsored the new league. In 2013 the sponsorship was ended, leaving the league unfinished mid-season. In 2014, the league was named FKF Girls' Premier League. Vihiga County is an administrative region in the former Western Province of Kenya whose headquarters are in Mbale, the largest town in the county. The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. The 2021 CAF Women's Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers is the 1st edition of the CAF Women's Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers, a women's club football championship organised by the CECAFA for the women's clubs of association nations. This edition will held from 7–21 August 2021 in Kenya. The winner of the tournament will qualify for the inaugural 2021 CAF Women's Champions League which will held later this year. Charles Okere Okoth (born 23 April 1981) is a Kenyan professional association football coach who is currently the assistant coach of the ''Harambee Stars,'' the Kenya national football team. Career Okere served as coach at Mathare Youth Sports Association before moving to Nairobi-based club Kenya Commercial Bank S.C. (KCB) to serve as the assistant coach. Vihiga is a town in Kenya located on the eastern side of the Kakamega Forest. Geography The town is along the road between Kisumu and Kakamega, and only five kilometres north of the equator. Vihiga bears the same name as its county, Vihiga County. Vihiga municipality has a population of 118,696 (2009 census). Vihiga municipality has six wards; two of them (Central Maragoli and Wamuluma) belong to Vihiga Constituency while the remaining four wards (Chavakali, Izawa, Lyaduywa and North Maragoli) are part of the Sabatia Constituency.
