Vihiga Queens F.C.
Vihiga Queens Football Club is a Kenyan professional women's association football club based in Mbale, Vihiga County that competes in Kenyan Women's Premier League, the top tier of Kenyan women's football. The club is affiliated to the Football Kenya Federation. The club has won the Premier League title on three consecutive occasions from 2017 to 2019. The team won the national league in 2019. In 2021, they were selected as the representative for Kenya at the CECAFA qualifiers which won by beating Ethiopian team CBE by 2–1 in the finals and qualified them to the inaugural 2021 CAF Women's Champions League. Kenyan Women's Premier League
The Kenyan Women's Premier League is the top tier women's football league in the Kenyan football league system. It is controlled by the Football Kenya Federation. History The first women's football league in Kenya has been created in 1985. In 2010 no league was running any more because of financial problems. UNICEF and the Kenyan government then sponsored the new league. In 2013 the sponsorship was ended, leaving the league unfinished mid-season. In 2014, the league was named FKF Girls' Premier League. Vihiga County is an administrative region in the former Western Province of Kenya whose headquarters are in Mbale, the largest town in the county. The Football Kenya Federation (abbreviated as Football Kenya or FKF) is the governing body of football in Kenya. The FKF organizes the Kenyan Premier League, the Kenyan Women's Premier League, FKF Division One, FKF Women Division One and Kenya national football teams. It is headed by Nick Mwendwa. The 2021 CAF Women's Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers is the 1st edition of the CAF Women's Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers, a women's club football championship organised by the CECAFA for the women's clubs of association nations. Charles Okere Okoth (born 23 April 1981) is a Kenyan professional association football coach who is currently the assistant coach of the ''Harambee Stars,'' the Kenya national football team.
