Vietnam Women's National Football Team
The Vietnam women's national football team ( vi, Đội tuyển bóng đá nữ quốc gia Việt Nam) is a women's football team representing Vietnam and controlled by Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). The team is currently ranked 34th in the world by FIFA. History Early history and an established Southeast Asian powerhouse Vietnam women's football established in 1990, but it wasn't until 1997 that the women's team had the first match. The team has become one of the most powerful football women's team in Southeast Asia since 2001 with Thailand. Vietnam cemented its position in the region by winning gold medals at the AFF Women's Championship in 2006, 2012 and 2019. Vietnam Football Federation
The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF, vi, Liên đoàn Bóng đá Việt Nam) is the governing body of football in Vietnam. It is responsible for the all Vietnam teams of football, futsal and beach soccer as well as national competitions. VFF is currently a member of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup
The 2022 AFC Women's Asian Cup was the 20th edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup, the quadrennial international women's football tournament in Asia competed by the national teams in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). India was selected as the host nation by the AFC Women's Football Committee in June 2020. It was the first time that the country hosted the competition since 1979. On 28 January 2021, the AFC confirmed that the tournament would take place between 20 January and 6 February 2022, instead of the original scheduled dates of late October and early November. The football (soccer) tournament at the 2001 Southeast Asian Games was held in Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia. It included a men's tournament and that year was the first edition of the Southeast Asian Games to include a women's tournament. The men's tournament was held from 1 September to 15 September 2001, while the women's tournament was held from 4 to 14 September 2001. The men's tournament was the first of the Southeast Asian Games to have an age limit, and has been played by U-23 (under 23 years old) national teams since then, while the women's tournament has no age limit. 2019 AFF Women's Championship
The 2019 AFF Women's Championship was the 11th edition of the AFF Women's Championship, an international women's football tournament organised by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The tournament was hosted by Thailand from 15 to 27 August 2019. Vietnam ended Thailand's dominance in the last three editions of the tournament by winning 1–0 in the final.
