Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU; vi, Đại học Quốc gia Hà Nội, ĐHQGHN) is a public research university in Vietnam. The university has 10 member colleges (called "universities") and faculties. VNU is one of two Vietnam's national universities, ranked 201–250th in Asia by the QS ASIA University Rankings 2020. In 2020, it was one of the first two Vietnamese universities (the other one being Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) to be included in the QS Global Ranking of Top 150 universities under 50 years old by 2021. VNU University of Economics and Business (Vietnamese: ''Trường Đại học Kinh tế, Đại học Quốc gia Hà Nội'') is a member of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Phạm Xuân Nguyên
Phạm Xuân Nguyên (born 15 May 1958), better known by his pen name Ngân Xuyên, is a Vietnamese writer and literary translator. Personal life and career Phạm Xuân Nguyên was born in Nghệ An Province. He did his early education in neighbouring Hà Tĩnh Province, where in grade 6 and again in grade 10 he won district and provincial awards for writing. He studied Russian as his foreign language in high school, and continued learning it as a student in the literature department of the University of Hanoi ('' Trường Đại học Tổng hợp Hà Nội'', now part of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi). He interrupted his university studies to serve in the People's Army of Vietnam from 1978 to 1982, and was stationed in Ho Chi Minh City. Võ Nguyên Giáp (; 25 August 1911 – 4 October 2013) was a Vietnamese general and communist politician who is regarded as having been one of the greatest military strategists of the 20th century. He served as interior minister in President Hồ Chí Minh's Việt Minh government, the military commander of the Việt Minh, the commander of the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN), minister of defence, and deputy prime minister. He also served as a member of the Politburo of the Vietnam Workers' Party, which in 1976 became the Communist Party of Vietnam. Nguyễn Thái Học
Nguyễn Thái Học ( Hán tự: 阮 太 學; 1 December 1902 – 17 June 1930) was a Vietnamese revolutionary who was the founding leader of the Việt Nam Quốc Dân Đảng, the Vietnamese Nationalist Party. He was captured and executed by the French colonial authorities after the failure of the Yên Bái mutiny. Many cities in Vietnam have named major streets after him. This was the case in both North and South even when the country was divided before the fall of Saigon in April 1975. One of the most notable is Nguyễn Thái Học Street, Hanoi. The VNU Vietnam Japan University (VJU, Vietnamese: Trường Đại học Việt Nhật, ) is the seventh university under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU). It was established in 2014 following a joint declaration issued by Vietnamese and Japanese governments. Vietnam Japan University collaborates with other Japanese universities and corporations around the world. The main campus of the university is under construction in Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park in Hanoi, Vietnam. The government of Japan invests heavily in Vietnamese higher education, and the VJU is an important part of the program.
