Vietnam Idol (season 2)
''Vietnam Idol, season 2'' was the second season of Vietnam Idol. This season was co-produced by Đông Tây Promotion, and Ho Chi Minh City Television. It aired on 3 September 2008 on HTV7 Channel with one episode per week, later raised to 2 episodes following the semi-finals. Trần Quốc Thiên from Thống Nhất, Đồng Nai Province was crowned as the winner of the competition. He received $10,000 cash, a recording contract with ''Music Faces'' and multiple commercial contracts. Process Following the success of the show, it was confirmed by producers that it would have Vietnam Idol air for a second season, but authorities subsequently postponed the contest until August. Nguyễn Ngọc Phương Vy (born August 27, 1987) is a Vietnamese singer who won the first season of ''Vietnam Idol'', in 2007. Vietnam Idol Phương Vy auditioned for ''Vietnam Idol'' in Ho Chi Minh City. She proceeded into the top 10 and was never voted into the bottom three. Phương Vy advanced into the final and won the title over Ngọc Ánh on October 3, 2007 with 53.44% of the votes. Upon winning the competition, she was awarded 10,000 USD and signed a recording contract with recording company ''Music Faces''. She did a song with K'naan for the Vietnamese version of Wavin' Flag. Thanh Tùng
Thanh Tùng (15 September 1948 – 15 March 2016) was a Vietnamese pop music composer and songwriter. He was born in Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa, but moved to Hanoi at age 6. Thanh Tùng graduated from the Pyongyang Conservatory in 1971 and worked for Voice of Vietnam from 1971 to 1975. After the reunification of Vietnam in 1975, he returned to Saigon, now Ho Chi Minh City, and contributed to the establishment of Ho Chi Minh City Television's orchestra. He also worked as conductor and art manager of Bông Sen (Lotus) music company. He worked for Ho Chi Minh City Association of Musicians. We Wish You A Merry Christmas
"We Wish You a Merry Christmas" is an English Christmas carol, listed as numbers 230 and 9681 in the Roud Folk Song Index. The famous version of the carol is from the English West Country. Popular version The Bristol-based composer, conductor and organist Arthur Warrell (1883-1939) is responsible for the popularity of the carol. Warrell, a lecturer at the University of Bristol from 1909, arranged the tune for his own University of Bristol Madrigal Singers as an elaborate four-part arrangement, which he performed with them in concert on December 6, 1935. His composition was published by Oxford University Press the same year under the title "A Merry Christmas: West Country traditional song". Warrell's arrangement is notable for using "I" instead of "we" in the words; the first line is "I wish you a Merry Christmas". Siu Black (born in Pleitonghia Commune, near the city of Kon Tum in Kon Tum Province, South Vietnam, August 27, 1967) is a prominent Vietnamese popular singer from the Central Highlands.
