Viesīte Municipality
Viesīte Municipality () is a former municipality in Selonia, Latvia. The municipality was formed in 2009 by merging Elkšņi parish, Rite parish, Sauka parish and Viesīte town with its countryside territory, the administrative centre being Viesīte. In 2010 Viesīte parish was created from the countryside territory of Viesīte town. The population in 2020 was 3,500. On 1 July 2021, Viesīte Municipality ceased to exist and its territory was merged into Jēkabpils Municipality. Administrative Divisions Of Latvia
The current administrative division of Latvia came into force on 1 July 2021. On 10 June 2020, the Saeima approved a municipal reform that would reduce the 110 municipalities and nine republic cities to 43 local government units consisting of 36 municipalities (, ''novads'') and seven state cities (''valstspilsētas, valstspilsēta''). The municipalities are also further divided into 71 cities/towns (''pilsētas'', '' pilsēta'') and 512 parishes (''pagasti, pagasts''). On 1 June 2021, the Constitutional Court of Latvia ruled that the annexation of Varakļāni Municipality to Rēzekne Municipality was unconstitutional. In response, the Saeima decided to preserve the existence of Varakļāni Municipality as a 43rd local government unit until 2025. Zhydachiv (, ) is a city in Stryi Raion, Lviv Oblast (region) in western Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Zhydachiv urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Rokiškis
Rokiškis () is a list of cities in Lithuania, city in northeastern Lithuania, close to the Latvia–Lithuania border, with a population of 11,606 (2023). Czeladź
Czeladź () is a town in Zagłębie Dąbrowskie (part of historic Lesser Poland), in southern Poland, near Katowice and Sosnowiec. Jēkabpils Municipality
Jēkabpils Municipality () is a municipality in Latvia. The municipality was formed in 2009 by Merger (politics), merging Ābeļi Parish, Dignāja Parish, Dunava Parish, Kalna Parish, Leimaņi Parish, Rubene Parish and Zasa Parish. During the Administrative divisions of Latvia, 2021 Latvian administrative reform, the previous Jēkabpils Municipality was merged with Aknīste Municipality, Krustpils Municipality, Sala Municipality, Latvia, Sala Municipality and Viesīte Municipality. The new municipality now fully corresponds with the area of the pre-2009 Jēkabpils district. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Jēkabpils. Viesīte (; ) is a town in the western part of Jēkabpils Municipality in the Selonia region of Latvia. The population in 2020 was 1,500. Viesīte is a typical Selonia town located in the hills in the centre of the district. Selonia is a cultural and historical district, bordering on Latgale, Zemgale (Semigalia), Vidzeme and Lithuania.
