Videoart at Midnight is an international forum fostering contemporary art, in particular film, new media art and video art. In a monthly program international artists are invited to show their work in the big cinema hall of the Kino Babylon in the Mitte neighborhood of Berlin. Background ''Videoart at Midnight'' is a private initiative, founded in 2008 by Olaf Stüber and Ivo Wessel. Monthly since, and always on a Friday at midnight, Stüber invites artists to show their works within in the "Dispositif cinema" to put them up for discourse. Every night is dedicated to one artist. Bigert & Bergström
Bigert & Bergström is a Swedish artist duo consisting of Mats Bigert and Lars Bergström. The Bigert & Bergström creative partnership began in 1986 while attending Royal Swedish Academy of Arts in Stockholm. Since then, the duo have created a wide range of art projects that have been internationally recognized and exhibited. Filipa César
Filipa César (born 1975 in Portugal) is an artist and filmmaker. She lives and works in Berlin, and studied at the Faculty of Arts in Porto and Lisbon (1996–99), the Academy of Arts in Munich (1999–2000) and MA Art in Context, University of Arts, Berlin (2007). John Bock
John Bock (born 1965 in Schenefeld, Germany) is a German artist. He studied in Hamburg, Germany and lives and works in Berlin. Work Bock is a multi-media artist primarily known for his performances. Since 1991, he creates environments hand crafted from found materials which function as symbolic settings for his "lectures." More recently there has been an increased production of film and video work. In his "lectures", Bock acts on "stages" built from tables, cupboards or multi-level wood constructions. The objects are handmade or re-modeled accessories of the lecture, made out of clothing, electrical equipment such as hoovers and mixers, or "plastic diagrams" that illustrate his mathematical explanations. After the lecture, they are left on the stage which thus forms a "theatrical collage". Christian Falsnaes
Christian Falsnaes (born 1980 in Copenhagen, Denmark) is a Danish artist living and working in Berlin, Germany. Education Falsnaes studied philosophy in Copenhagen from 2001 to 2003. After a short stay in Zurich, he went to Vienna and studied from 2005 to 2011 at the Academy of Fine Arts under Daniel Richter, Peter Kogler and Constanze Ruhm. Joep van Liefland (born 1966 in Utrecht) is a contemporary conceptual artist from Netherlands. He lives and works in Berlin. His work focuses on the phenomenology of media and their transformation. He is particularly interested in the matter of impermanence and disappearance that are closely connected to the technological progress. Using the example of technology, Joep van Liefland addresses the process of alteration and transformation as well as the universal concepts that underlie the transition from old to new. Tobias Zielony (born 1973) is a German photographer and short filmmaker, living in Berlin. He has made work about communities at the margins of society, such as young people.
