Def Leppard
Def Leppard are an English rock band formed in 1976 in Sheffield. Since 1992, the band has consisted of Rick Savage (bass, backing vocals), Joe Elliott (lead vocals), Rick Allen (drums, backing vocals), Phil Collen (guitar, backing vocals), and Vivian Campbell (guitar, backing vocals). They established themselves as part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement of the early 1980s. The band's greatest commercial success came between the early 1980s and the early 1990s. Their first album, 1980's ''On Through the Night'', reached the Top 15 in the UK but received little notice elsewhere. Their second album, 1981's ''High 'n' Dry'', was produced by Mutt Lange, who helped them begin to define their melodic hard rock style, and the album's most popular track "Bringin' On the Heartbreak" became one of the first rock videos played on MTV in 1982, but the album only reached the Top 30 and 40 in the UK and US. Def Leppard's next studio album, ''Pyromania'', was released in Janua ...

Love Bites (Def Leppard Song)
"Love Bites" is a song by English glam metal band Def Leppard from their album ''Hysteria''. The power ballad is Def Leppard's only number-one single and penultimate top ten hit on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and became a top-10 hit in Canada, Ireland, and New Zealand. On the UK Singles Chart, the track peaked at number 11. Song history and composition When Robert John "Mutt" Lange originally brought the song to the band's attention, it was a country ballad, which the band thought sounded like nothing they had done before. The band then added power rock elements and emotive backing vocals similar to those used in R&B ballads at the time. The title "Love Bites" was originally used for a very different song that was eventually re-titled "I Wanna Be Your Hero", and which appeared as a ''Hysteria'' B-side and later on the album ''Retro Active''. Musically, the song has been described as glam metal, and is considered a classic of the genre. Following the huge momentum generated by ...

Music Video Compilation Albums
Music is generally defined as the art of arranging sound to create some combination of form, harmony, melody, rhythm or otherwise expressive content. Exact definitions of music vary considerably around the world, though it is an aspect of all human societies, a cultural universal. While scholars agree that music is defined by a few specific elements, there is no consensus on their precise definitions. The creation of music is commonly divided into musical composition, musical improvisation, and musical performance, though the topic itself extends into academic disciplines, criticism, philosophy, and psychology. Music may be performed or improvised using a vast range of instruments, including the human voice. In some musical contexts, a performance or composition may be to some extent improvised. For instance, in Hindustani classical music, the performer plays spontaneously while following a partially defined structure and using characteristic motifs. In modal jazz the p ...

All I Want Is Everything (Def Leppard Song)
"All I Want Is Everything" is a 1996 song by the English hard rock band Def Leppard from their album ''Slang''. The song reached #38 on the U.K. Singles Chart and has not been played live by the band since the Slang World Tour in 1997. Background In reference to the song, lead singer Elliot said in the album's commentary that "All I Want Is Everything" was "demoed as almost a country song, he song He or HE may refer to: Language * He (pronoun), an English pronoun * He (kana), the romanization of the Japanese kana へ * He (letter), the fifth letter of many Semitic alphabets * He (Cyrillic), a letter of the Cyrillic script called ''He'' ...went through a lot of changes in the studio." Elliot also says that the song has "almost a U2 feel to it", and the "very solemn" lyrics sum up "a lot of what the band was going through at the time: births, deaths, divorces." Music video The music video was directed by Matt Mahurin and shot at "Studios & Location", USA in August 1996. T ...

Ziggy Stardust (song)
"Ziggy Stardust" is a song written by English singer-songwriter David Bowie for his 1972 concept album ''The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars''. Co-produced by Bowie and Ken Scott, he recorded it at Trident Studios in London in November 1971 with his backing band the Spiders from Mars—comprising Mick Ronson, Trevor Bolder and Mick Woodmansey. Lyrically, the song is about Ziggy Stardust, a bisexual alien rock star who acts as a messenger for extraterrestrial beings. The character was influenced by English singer Vince Taylor, as well as the Legendary Stardust Cowboy and Kansai Yamamoto. Although Ziggy is introduced earlier on the album, this song is its centrepiece, presenting the rise and fall of the star in a very human-like manner. Musically, it is a glam rock song, like its parent album, and is based around a Ronson guitar riff. Since its release, "Ziggy Stardust" has received widespread acclaim from music critics, with the majority praising its st ...

Animal (Def Leppard Song)
"Animal" is a song recorded by English rock band Def Leppard in 1987 from the album '' Hysteria''. It was the first single release off the album, and became the band's first Top 10 hit in their native UK, reaching No. 6 on the UK Singles Chart. Recording "Animal" is usually noted by the band as having been the most difficult track to record for ''Hysteria''. It was one of the first songs developed in early 1984, but neither the band nor successive producers Jim Steinman, Nigel Green and Robert John "Mutt" Lange were able to produce the desired sound until two and a half painstaking years later. It was the only ''Hysteria'' track demoed by Rick Allen on an acoustic drum kit prior to his car accident; the drummer having recorded a beat for the song on a four-track tape during early sessions. A later studio version, tracked to a drum machine, remained largely the same as the earlier demo, which the band felt was starting to sound dated, until Joe Elliot recorded a lead vocal ove ...

Miss You In A Heartbeat
"Miss You in a Heartbeat" is a 1994 song by English hard rock band Def Leppard. The song was released as a single from their album ''Retro Active''. Background Three versions of the song appear on ''Retro Active''; the acoustic version (4:04), which was released as the single, the electric version (4:56), which was one of the bonus tracks for the Japanese pressing of ''Adrenalize'' along with "She's Too Tough", before both were remixed for ''Retro Active'', and the piano version which is featured as a hidden track on the ''Retro Active'' album. It is played after the electric version of "Two Steps Behind". The single peaked at number 39 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and was Def Leppard's last American top 40 single to date. Although "Miss You in a Heartbeat" was written by Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen, it was initially recorded and released by The Law on their 1991 self-titled debut. Track listing ;Cassette single: Bludgeon Riffola / Polygram / Mercury / 858 080-4 ( ...

Action (Def Leppard Song)
"Action" is a self-written and produced 1975 song by British glam rock band Sweet. Background The song went through several iterations; a 7" single version was recorded at Ian Gillan's Kingsway Studios in London and slightly different versions appear on the albums '' Strung Up'' and ''Give Us a Wink''.The lyrics refer to Sweet's negative treatment as pop stars, particularly by the music press, and to the demands of the music industry. The track features a masked "backwards vocal" with the words "You kiss my arse". The first verse has a striking resemblance to the hard rock section of Queen's " Bohemian Rhapsody", which was not released for another 4 months. Lead singer Brian Connolly called it a "blatant rip-off". Chart performance The single reached No. 15 in the UK in July 1975, and went to the Top 40 in the US the following year. Def Leppard version In 1993, English rock band Def Leppard covered it on their album '' Retro Active''. "Andy '' cott' said that our version ...

When Love & Hate Collide
"When Love & Hate Collide" is a power ballad by British rock band Def Leppard from their 1995 greatest hits album ''Vault'', written by Joe Elliott and Rick Savage. It was originally written and demoed for ''Adrenalize'', but not finalized until 1995 for its inclusion on ''Vault''. The demo version is much more heavily produced in the signature style of ''Hysteria'' and ''Adrenalize'', and the final version is more stripped down, supposedly toward the style of the following studio album ''Slang''. The original demo version contains the final recorded guitar solo by late original guitarist Steve Clark. "When Love & Hate Collide" became one of their most successful singles in their homeland, where it reached number two in the UK Singles Charts, but it failed to make a significant impact on the US charts, reaching number 58 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. It did, however, become a top 10 hit in Canada, climbing to number six on the ''RPM'' Top Singles chart. The song also reached th ...

Rock Of Ages (Def Leppard Song)
"Rock of Ages" is a song by Def Leppard from their 1983 album ''Pyromania''. When issued as a single in the United States, the song reached #16 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart and #19 on the ''Cash Box'' Top 100. It also hit #1 on the Top Tracks Rock chart. In 2012, the band re-recorded the song, along with "Pour Some Sugar on Me", under the title "Rock of Ages 2012". Both were released digitally on 4 June 2012. Lyrics The song begins with "Gunter glieben glauten globen", a German-like nonsense phrase introduced by Mutt Lange, who is of German descent. According to the official Def Leppard , As the song's melody begins, Elliott speaks the lines, "All right/I've got something to say/It's better to burn out/Than to fade away"; the second two lines are a reference to Neil Young's song " Hey Hey, My My (Out of the Blue)". Def Leppard's four-line version was quoted in the 1986 movie '' Highlander'' by the film's villain, the Kurgan. Young's line would later become immortaliz ...
