Victory Alliance
The Victory Alliance ( ar, ائتلاف النصر, iʾtilāf al-naṣr) is a Islamic democracy, Muslim democratic Iraqi political alliance established by former Prime Minister of Iraq, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi. History The alliance was founded on 14 December 2017 by former Prime Minister of Iraq, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi. Although a coalition was initially created between the Fatah Alliance, Conquest Alliance and the Victory Alliance, (named Victory for Iraq), on 15 January the Conquest Alliance withdrew because they would not have gained as many seats and some groups involved in the Victory Alliance were alleged to be involved in corruption. Haider Al-Abadi
Haider Jawad Kadhim al-Abadi ( ar, حيدر جواد كاظم العبادي; born 25 April 1952) is an Iraqi politician who was Prime Minister of Iraq from September 2014 until October 2018. Previously he served as Minister of Communication from 2003 to 2004, in the first government after Saddam Hussein was deposed. He was designated as Prime Minister by President Fuad Masum on 11 August 2014 to succeed Nouri al-Maliki and was approved by the Iraqi parliament on 8 September 2014. Al-Abadi was included in ''Time'' magazine's ''100 Most Influential People of 2018.'' He left the office of Prime Minister in 2018, following rising domestic discontent and widespread violent protests. Early life and education Al-Abadi's father was a member of the Baghdad Neurosurgery Hospital and Inspector General of the Iraqi Ministry of Health. Fatah Alliance
The Fatah Alliance ( ar, ائتلاف الفتح, iʾtilāf al-fatḥ), also sometimes translated as the Conquest Alliance, is a political coalition in Iraq formed to contest the 2018 general election. The main components are groups involved in the Popular Mobilization Forces which is mainly a state-sponsored umbrella organization made up of Iraqi Shiite Muslims who fought from 2014 to 2017 alongside the Iraqi Army to defeat ISIL. It is led by Hadi Al-Amiri, the leader of the Badr Organization. Members The Fatah Alliance included the Badr Organisation, the Al-Sadiqoun Bloc (the political wing of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, AAH), Kata'ib Hezbollah and Kata'ib al-Imam Ali, all key components of the Hashd. The National Wisdom Movement (Arabic:تيار الحكمة الوطني ''Tayar al-Hikmah al-Watani'') is a political coalition in Iraq that was formed to contest the 2018 general election. It is led by Ammar al-Hakim, who was previously the leader of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq (ISCI). The Alliance Towards Reforms or Marching Towards Reform ( ar, تحالف سائرون للإصلاح), also known by its Arabic short form Saairun ( ar, سائرون, ', ), is an Iraqi electoral coalition formed to gain political control in the 2018 general election. The main components are the Shi’a Islamist Sadrist Integrity Party, the leftist Iraqi Communist Party, the Youth Movement for Change Party, the Party of Progress and Reform and the Iraqi Republican Group and the State of Justice Party. The alliance won 54 seats, more than any other coalition in the election. The State of Law Coalition ( ar, إئتلاف دولة القانون ''I'tilāf Dawlat al-Qānūn''), also known as Rule of Law Coalition, is an Iraqi political coalition formed for the 2009 Iraqi governorate elections by the Prime Minister of Iraq at the time, Nouri al-Maliki, of the Islamic Dawa Party. The name was an emphasis on the improved security situation which Maliki's government had achieved through the Battle of Basra and other operations of the Iraqi Security Forces.
