Victorian Dover Historic District is a national historic district located at Dover, Kent County, Delaware. It encompasses 482 contributing buildings representative of the community's commercial, domestic and industrial development between the first quarter of the 19th century and the first quarter of the 20th century. Notable buildings include the Wesley United Methodist Church (c. 1850), Whatcoat United Methodist Church (1871-1872), Dover's Railroad Station (1860s, 1911), Capitol Theatre (1903-1904), and Priscilla Block (1896). Dover () is the capital and second-largest city of the U.S. state of Delaware. It is also the county seat of Kent County and the principal city of the Dover, DE, Metropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses all of Kent County and is part of the Philadelphia– Wilmington– Camden, PA– NJ–DE– MD, Combined Statistical Area. It is located on the St. Jones River in the Delaware River coastal plain. It was named by William Penn for Dover in Kent, England (for which Kent County is named). Kent County is a county located in the central part of the U.S. state of Delaware. As of the 2020 census, the population was 181,851, making it the least populous county in Delaware.
