Victoria And Her Hussar (1954 Film)
''Victoria and Her Hussar'' (german: Viktoria und ihr Husar) is a 1954 West German musical film directed by Rudolf Schündler and starring Eva Bartok, Friedrich Schoenfelder and Rudolf Forster. Part of the tradition of operetta films, it is an adaptation of the 1930 operetta '' Viktoria und ihr Husar'' by Paul Abraham. A previous film adaptation '' Victoria and Her Hussar'' had already been produced in 1931 by Richard Oswald. It was made at the Wandsbek Studios in Hamburg. The film's sets were designed by the art director Dieter Bartels and Felix Smetana. Rudolf Schündler
Rudolf Ernst Paul Schündler (17 April 1906, in Leipzig – 12 December 1988, in Munich) was a German actor and director. He played "Karl" in ''The Exorcist'' (1973). After finishing the film ''The Nasty Girl'', Schündler died of a heart attack in Germany, aged 82. The film was released in 1990, two years after his death. Wandsbek Studios
The Wandsbek Studios are film production and television studios located in Wandsbek, a district of the German city of Hamburg. The complex was established in 1948 when Real Film, set up the previous year, acquired a site in Wandsbek for construction of a studio. Real Film was one of the first German companies to receive a production licence in the wake of the Second World War. The studios were located in the British Zone of Occupation which in 1949 became part of West Germany. Historically the film industry had been centered in Berlin, but as much of this was now under Communist East German control, West German production shifted to Hamburg and the Bavaria Studios in Munich. While Wandsbek was primarily the base of Real Film, it also rented out space to other companies for their productions, such as the 1952 hit ''Toxi'' (1952). Richard Oswald
Richard Oswald (5 November 1880 – 11 September 1963) was an Austrian film director, producer, screenwriter, and father of German-American film director Gerd Oswald. Early career Richard Oswald, born in Vienna as Richard W. Ornstein, began his career as an actor on the Viennese stage. He made his film directorial debut at age 34 with ''The Iron Cross'' (1914) and worked a number of times for Jules Greenbaum. In 1916, Oswald set up his own production company in Germany, writing and directing most of his films himself.
