Victor Senior High School is a public high school located in Victor, New York, and is part of the encompassing Victor Central School District. It is a four year high school covering grades 9-12, which regularly receives both national and state recognition for excellence in education. New York State Field Band Conference
The New York State Field Band Conference or NYSFBC is a local circuit for marching band competitions, based in the U.S. state of New York. Championships are held at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York each year in the last week of October or first week of November. The conference was created in February 1972 to standardize rules and provide constructive feedback at competitions. Mission Purpose The New York State Field Band Conference, Inc. was formed on Feb. 6, 1972 for the purpose of regulating and scheduling field band events in New York State, and for the enhancement of school field band competitions. Tri-M Music Honor Society, formerly known as Modern Music Masters, is an American high school and middle school music honor society. A program of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), it is designed to recognize students for their academic and musical achievements and to provide leadership and service opportunities to young musicians. There are approximately 6200 participating chapters in several countries, each of which is run by the students but supervised by an advisor or sponsor, usually a school teacher. Quidditch (sport)
Quidditch, also known as quadball, is a sport of two teams of seven players each mounted on a broomstick, and is played on a hockey rink-sized pitch. The sport was created in 2005 at Middlebury College in Vermont, and was inspired by the fictional game Quidditch in the ''Harry Potter'' books by author J. K. Rowling. National Honor Society
The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationwide organization for high school students in the United States and outlying territories, which consists of many chapters in high schools. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship (academic achievement), leadership, service, and character. The National Honor Society requires some sort of service to the community, school, or other organizations. The time spent working on these projects contributes towards the monthly service hour requirement. Link Crew
Link Crew is a North American student leadership program. Its focus is on making select individuals from the Junior and Senior classes, known as "Link Leaders," into mentors for freshmen and new students. Link Crew operates in 3,705 schools in 47 U.S. states. The U.S. trained 11,424 Link Crew educators. Canada has 1,712 trained educators spread across seven schools. Link Crew has benefited 1.8 million students. The training process consists of team building, cooperative skill development, discussion skills, situation scenarios, and other activities. Masterminds (quiz Bowl)
MasterMinds is an academic quiz bowl program active in Upstate New York. There are currently four regions with associated leagues: Albany, Rochester, Syracuse, and Buffalo. Some games in the Albany and Rochester regions are broadcast on public-access television. History MasterMinds was founded by CYPRAS in 1993. The first season consisted of schools in the Rochester area. MasterMinds later expanded to schools in Buffalo (1995), Albany (1999), and Syracuse (2003). Rules General Masterminds uses NAQT questions.
