Victor Sanchez (Dominican Politician)
Victor Hipolito Sanchez Feliz former congressman, representing the Province of Azua, In the Dominican Republic. He was born on March 23, 1966. He is the son of civics professor Mr. Tirso Sanchez (deceased) and Mrs. Altagracia Millenia Feliz. He is a graduate of Bachelor in Accounting from the Dominican University O & M. and completed the Master of Science in Development Policy in the Global Institute of Higher Studies in Social Sciences. He has played important roles in various private companies, as well as managerial and administrative functions in public administration, becoming Administrative Vice-Minister of the Presidency of the Republic. He was member of the Dominican Liberation Party, until he resigned citing his discomfort with president Danilo Medina’s administration, and joined the Modern Revolutionary Party as their candidate for Senator in the Province of Azua. Chamber Of Deputies Of The Dominican Republic
The Chamber of Deputies ( es, Cámara de Diputados) is the Lower house of the Congress which, along with the Senate, composes the legislature of the Dominican Republic. The composition and powers of the House are established by Constitution of the Dominican Republic. The Chamber is composed of deputies who are divided in 178 by province, five nationally, and seven overseas. The Chamber is charged with the passage of national legislation, known as laws, which, after concurrence by the Senate, are sent to the President of the Dominican Republic for consideration. In addition to this basic power, the Chamber has certain exclusive powers of which include the power to initiate all laws related to revenue, the Impeachment of officers elected by popular vote, the Senate or the National Council of the Magistracy who are sent to trial the Senate.
