Victor Sadler
Victor Sadler (1937–2020) was a British people, British-born Dutch people, Dutch Esperantist. Sadler and Esperanto Victor Sadler learnt Esperanto when he was 14, in 1951. His undergraduate degree was in Experimental Psychology at the University of Cambridge followed by a PhD entitled ''Vocal reproduction of the duration, intensity and fundamental frequency of synthetic speech sounds'' from University College London in 1962. At the end of that year he started working at the central office of the World Esperanto Association (UEA), in Rotterdam (Netherlands), where he cared after the magazine ''Esperanto (magazine), Esperanto''. He also served as redactor of ''Monda Kulturo'', during the short lifespan of this other periodical, and he cared after the Hector Hodler library, which is still nowadays one of the richest Esperanto libraries in the world. Esperanto Academy
The Akademio de Esperanto (AdE; en, Academy of Esperanto, link=yes) is an independent body of Esperanto speakers who steward the evolution of said language by keeping it consistent with the '' Fundamento de Esperanto'' in accordance with the Declaration of Boulogne. Modeled somewhat after the Académie française and the Real Academia Española, the Akademio was proposed by L. L. Zamenhof, the creator of Esperanto, at the first World Esperanto Congress, and was founded soon thereafter under the name ''Lingva Komitato'' (Language Committee). This Committee had a "superior commission" called the ''Akademio''. In 1948, within the framework of a general reorganization, the Language Committee and the Academy combined to form the Akademio de Esperanto. Distributed Language Translation
Distributed Language Translation ( eo, Distribuita Lingvo-Tradukado, DLT) was a project to develop an interlingual machine translation system for twelve European languages. It ran between 1985 and 1990. :The distinctive feature of DLT was the use of version ofEsperanto as an intermediate language (IL) and the idea that translation could be divided into two stages: from L1 into IL and then from IL into L2. The intermediate translation could be transmitted over a network to any number of workstations which would take care of the translation from IL into the desired language. World Congress Of Esperanto
The World Esperanto Congress ( eo, Universala Kongreso de Esperanto, UK) is an annual Esperanto convention. It has the longest tradition among international Esperanto conventions, with an almost unbroken run for 113 years. The congresses have been held since 1905 every year, except during World War I, World War II, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the 1920s, the Universal Esperanto Association has been organizing these congresses. These congresses take place every year and, over the 30 years from 1985 through 2014, have gathered an average of about 2,000 participants (since World War II it has varied from 800 to 6,000, depending on the venue). The average number of countries represented is about 60. Some specialized organizations also gather a few hundred participants in their annual meetings.
