Victor Mihalachi
Victor Mihalachi (born 24 February 1989) is a Romanian sprint canoeist who has competed since the late 2000s. He won 4 gold medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships, two at the 2010 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Poznań, earning them in the C-2 500 m and C-2 1000 m events, one at the 2011 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Szeged (in the C-2 500 m) and one at the 2014 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Moscow (in the C-2 1000 m). He has also won two silvers, in the C-2 500 m (2014, 2017) and a bronze in the C-2 1000 m (2011). He has also won three European gold medals (C-2 500 m 2010, 2011; C-2 1000 m 2012), 5 silvers (C-2 500 m 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017) and 4 bronze (C-2 1000 m 2010, 2011, 2013, C-2 200 m 2014). He and his teammate Liviu Dumitrescu have worn lucky caps with marijuana leaves on to race in. 2013 Canoe Sprint European Championships
The 2013 Canoe Sprint European Championships were the 25th edition of the Canoe Sprint European Championships, an international canoe and kayak sprint event organised by the European Canoe Association, and the 15th edition since its revival in 1997. They were held for the first time in Portugal, at the Center for High Performance in Montemor-o-Velho, between 14 and 16 June 2013. Canoe Sprint
Canoe sprint is a water sport in which athletes race canoes or kayaks on calm water. Overview Race categories vary by the number of athletes in the boat, the length of the course, and whether the boat is a canoe or kayak. Canoe sprints are sometimes referred to as flat water racing. The distances recognized by the ICF for international canoe sprint races are 200m, 500m, and 1000m. These races take place on straight courses with each boat paddling in its own designated lane. Longer marathon races do exist, notably the 5000m (also an ICF-recognized distance) – these usually have athletes starting in a large pack at a start line before paddling around a set course with marked turning points (there are no assigned lanes).
