Victor Lind (artist)
Victor Lind (born 15 December 1940) is a Norwegian painter and sculptor. His teachers and inspirators include Chrix Dahl, Alf-Jørgen Aas and Rolf Nesch. Two of his works are located at the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design. Among his works is also a controversial statue of Knut Rød. He was married to illustrator Eva Lange. Chrix Dahl
Chrix Dahl (5 January 1906 – 16 June 1994) was a Norwegian painter and illustrator. Biography Christian Axel Dahl was born in Kristiania (now Oslo) Norway. He was the eldest son of Christian Axel Dahl (1878-1918) and Elise Augusta Steen (1879-1952). Dahl was the son of a naval officer and grew up in Vestre Aker. He attended Skøyen School and took artium at Frogner School. He studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry (1924–25) under Eivind Nielsen, at the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts under Axel Revold and Halfdan Strøm (1925–27) and under Olaf Willums (1929–32). Dahl traveled through southern Europe, including Venice in 1929. He made his exhibition debut at Blomqvist in Oslo during 1930. Dahl was a teacher at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry from 1945 to 1974. He was a member of the Norske Grafikere, serving as secretary 1938-46 and as chairman 1946-53. Alf-Jørgen Aas
Alf-Jørgen Aas (5 July 1915 – 20 August 1981) was a Norwegian painter and art instructor. Biography He was born in Trondheim and studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts from 1934 to 1938 under Axel Revold (1887–1962), Jean Heiberg (1884–1976) and Georg Jacobsen. He debuted at the contemporary art gallery Kunstnerforbundet in Oslo during November 1939. He exhibited at the Autumn Exhibition at Oslo in 1945. He was married in 1945 to Ingeborg Bühler. Aas became professor at the National Academy of Fine Arts in 1965, and rector from 1975 to 1980. Aas was actively involved in the initial phase when the Henie-Onstad Art Centre was founded in Høvikodden, and he was a key adviser to the collection for several years. Aas's simplified forms and used a consensus color scale characterized by green, blue, violet and ocher. He often painted in acrylic or watercolor as well as oil on canvas. Rolf Nesch
Rolf (Emil Rudolf) Nesch (January 7, 1893 – October 27, 1975) was German born, Norwegian expressionist artist, especially noted for his printmaking. Career Nesch was born at Esslingen am Neckar in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. He was the son of August Nesch (1867–1922) and Emilie Langbein (1869–1944). Nesch grew up in Württemberg. He studied at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart (1908–12) and Dresden Academy of Fine Arts (1912–14). He participated in World War I led him to British captivity (1917–19). In the following years, he lived in Dresden, partly in Berlin and in the hometown of Esslingen. In 1929 he settled in Hamburg to continue his artistic career. Nesch worked in parallel with painting and graphics. He was influenced by expressionism in general, especially Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Edvard Munch. Knut Rød (30 June 1900 – 19 May 1986) was a Norwegian police prosecutor responsible for the arrest, detention and transfer of Jewish men, women and children to SS troops at Oslo harbor. Eva Lange (15 June 1944 – 12 May 2017) was a Norwegian illustrator, printmaker and painter. Biography Born in Arendal on 15 June 1944, Lange was a daughter of Anna Theresie Larsen and Jean Emil Lange.
