Victor Jones (linebacker)
Victor Purnell Jones (born October 19, 1966) is a former professional American football linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions. He played college football at Virginia Tech and was drafted in the twelfth round of the 1988 NFL Draft. In 1994, Jones received the Ed Block Courage Award and made the list of Hokies in the Pro under the category of special teams. College career Jones was coached by Mike Archer. In the 1986 Peach Bowl, Jones recovered a fumble at the Virginia Tech 41 to help secure the win against NC State Wolfpack. The game was the final contest of the 1986 NCAA Division I-A football season for both teams, and ended in a 25–24 victory for Virginia Tech, the first bowl victory in school history. Victor Jones (British Army Officer)
Lieutenant Colonel Victor Harry Jones OBE (b. 1898) was a British intelligence officer and "visual deception" expert during the Second World War. First serving with the 14th/20th King's Hussars in the First World War, he made a name for himself during the North African campaign of the Second World War by using dummy tanks (and other fake vehicles) to mislead the enemy. In 1941 he was transferred to A Force in Cairo, under Dudley Clarke, to continue deception operations on a larger scale. Biography Jones was born in Manila on 7 April 1898 to Harry Davis Campbell Jones. He and his brother, Jack, attended The Grange school in Crowborough, Sussex. On 11 July 1921, he married Emily Charlotte Thomson in Brompton, London. Amongst their children was the racehorse owner Harry Thomson Jones. Kenneth Victor Jones
Kenneth Victor Jones (14 May 1924 – 2 December 2020) was a British film score composer. Life Born in Bletchley, Buckinghamshire, Jones was a scholar at King's School, Canterbury. This was followed by a 6-month RAF-sponsored course in music and philosophy at Queen's College, Oxford and, after the war, 3 years at the Royal College of Music from 1947 (of which he was later made a professor in 1958). He was a composer, founder and original conductor of The Wimbledon Symphony Orchestra and acted as one of the Governors of Rokeby School, helping to raise the £50,000 that was needed to save it from closure in 1966. He died in December 2020 at the age of 96. Reginald Victor Jones , FRSE, LLD (29 September 1911 – 17 December 1997) was a British physicist and scientific military intelligence expert who played an important role in the defence of Britain in by solving scientific and technical problems, and by the extensive use of deception throughout the war to confuse the Germans. Early life Reginald Jones was born in Herne Hill, south London, on 29 September 1911. He was educated at Alleyn's School, Dulwich, and Wadham College, Oxford, where he studied Natural Sciences. In 1932 he graduated with First Class honours in physics and then, working in the Clarendon Laboratory, completed his DPhil in 1934. Subsequently, he took up a Skynner Senior Studentship in Astronomy at Balliol College, Oxford.
