Vicki Viidikas
Vicki Viidikas (25 September 1948 – 27 November 1998) was a twentieth-century Australian poet and prose writer. Her first poem, ''At East Balmain,'' was published when she was 19 years old. Her poetry, fiction and drawings were published in literary magazines, as well as several collections of poetry. She wrote prolifically up until her untimely death at 50 years old, which was much mourned in Australia's poetry community. Viidikas was an iconic member of the collection of Sydney poets now known as the “generation of ‘68”. The ‘ counter culture’ and her travels in Asia, especially India, are recurrent subjects in her poetry. Early life Viidikas was born and grew up in Sydney, Australia. Her mother, Betty Kunig, was Anglo-Australian, her father Estonian. Martin Johnston
Martin Johnston (12 November 1947 – 21 June 1990) was an Australian poet and novelist. Martin Johnston was born in Sydney in November 1947, son of the writers George Johnston and Charmian Clift. His early childhood was spent in London and Sydney. In 1954 the family moved to Greece. They returned to England in 1960 and Australia in 1964. He was educated at North Sydney Boys High School and Sydney University. In the mid-to-late 1970s he lived and travelled with Australian writer, Nadia Wheatley. They lived and wrote in Greece from 1975 to 1977, and travelled through Europe before returning to Australia in 1978.Tranter (1993) In October 1982 he married Roseanne Bonney, and they lived in Darlinghurst, Sydney. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is the national broadcaster of Australia. It is principally funded by direct grants from the Australian Government and is administered by a government-appointed board. The ABC is a publicly-owned body that is politically independent and fully accountable, with its charter enshrined in legislation, the ''Australian Broadcasting Corporation Act 1983''. ABC Commercial, a profit-making division of the corporation, also helps to generate funding for content provision. Stephen Henry Wallace A.M. (born 23 December 1943) is an Australian film and television director, screenwriter, producer, published author and acting coach. He has directed eight feature films, nine telemovies, numerous short films, worked on multiple television series and has a small theatre company. Known for his eye for talent and passion for working with young artists, many now established actors can attribute their first feature film, or on-screen debut to working with Wallace; from Bryan Brown to Russell Crowe, Naomi Watts and many others. Over the course of his career, Wallace's films have been recognised with over 38 nominations at local and international film festivals. Transit Lounge Publishing is an independent Australian literary small press founded in Melbourne in 2005. It publishes literary fiction, narrative and trade non-fiction. Wild & Woolley was an Australian small book publisher founded by Pat Woolley and Michael Wilding in 1973. Woolley bought a corner tenement in Chippendale, Sydney, in 1975 for $23,000. Starting in 1973 with the iconoclastic ''All About Grass'' on marijuana smoking, Wild & Woolley became immersed in Sydney's literary and bohemian culture of the 1970s.
