Vicki Hennessy
Vicki Hennessy was the Sheriff of San Francisco and the city's first female sheriff. She was appointed interim sheriff by Mayor Ed Lee (politician), Ed Lee pending an ethics investigation of the elected sheriff, Ross Mirkarimi, who was charged with domestic violence battery and later agreed to a plea bargain in which he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor false imprisonment. She is not related to former San Francisco Sheriff Michael Hennessey. Hennessy is a native of San Francisco and a graduate of Lowell High School (San Francisco), Lowell High School. Her husband is a retired San Francisco police officer. She is the mother of two grown children. San Francisco Sheriff's Department
The San Francisco Sheriff's Office (SFSO), officially the City and County of San Francisco Sheriff's Office, is the sheriff's office for the City and County of San Francisco. The current sheriff is Paul Miyamoto. The department has 850 deputized personnel and support staff. The SFSO is a separate organization from the San Francisco Police Department. However, SFSO deputies and SFPD officers have all attended a POST-mandated police academy, and are duly-sworn California peace officers. Lowell High School (San Francisco)
Lowell High School is a co-educational, public high school in San Francisco, California. History 1853-1893 In 1853, Colonel Thomas J. Nevins, San Francisco's first superintendent of schools, broached the idea of a free high school for boys and a seminary for girls. It took three years for Nevins to persuade the Board of Education that a high school was necessary, and a resolution was passed on July 10, 1856, to establish a San Francisco High School and Ladies' Seminary. Six days later, however, the resolution was rescinded on the grounds that a high school could not legally be part of the San Francisco Common Schools; opponents in the city saw no need for an education beyond the eighth grade funded by the public. Michael Hennessey
Michael Hennessey (born c. 1948) was the longest serving Sheriff in the history of San Francisco and was the longest tenured Sheriff in the State of California. Hennessey was elected in a run-off election in December 1979 and had been reelected in seven subsequent elections. By the end of his final term (January 2012), he had served as San Francisco's Sheriff for 32 years and had received more than one million votes as Sheriff. No other San Francisco Sheriff has served for more than sixteen years. On February 18, 2011, he announced he would not run for a ninth term of office. Paul Miyamoto is an American sheriff. He is the 37th sheriff of San Francisco, the first East Asian American sheriff in California history and the second from the department to be elected into office. Early life Miyamoto is a native of San Francisco and a graduate of Lowell High School. His father was Philip Miyamoto, an appellate judge for the state of California of Japanese descent.
